This is correct.
Interestingly, in the M3 GT4 catalog, they are noted as "Ext. Mirror...M3 E36" with the following part numbers:
51162253827 (LH)
51162253828 (RH)
Plugging them into Real OEM shows that they are indeed the same part # as the E36 M3 mirrors.
There is another set of exterior mirrors noted as "carbon" with the following part numbers:
51162483063 (LH)
51162483064 (RH)
These don't show up on RealOEM.
My educated guess is that they are the same mirrors but made of carbon fiber.
