He should get the exhaust he likes since its his car. Tischer has the muffler listed as $1387.94 Msrp and cats/mid section listed at $4014.66 Msrp. Gintani Sport is a great choice.

the prices for a full exhaust from tischer come extremely close to the full akra....
Well that's Msrp, Tischer sells them slightly cheaper. the insurance company shouldn't know what exhaust you have depending on the body shop and how cool they are with you ordering your own parts. so if you can get the body shop to write the estimate a little high just take the extra money and order the exhaust.

How loud does he want? There have been a million exhaust threads, and it really depends on how loud he wants to get. With the understanding that the louder it is, the more drone he'll get.
I'm lead to believe you'll have a very difficult time getting the bodyshop to replace emissions components with something not street-legal for obvious reasons. The axle-back section may be a different story though.
So a little louder would be a Sport Exhaust: Eisenman, B&B, Gintani, Bastuck, AE are all good options.
I got the Eisenmann Race and it isn't Too much louder than stock, but if you want to be safe, go with the Eisenmann Sport or Dinan.
Dinan's tips don't look anything near stock though if he is interested in keeping the stock look

We recently did an insurance job for a client that was rear ended and he upgraded to the Active Autowerke Signature Exhaust System. Since he is a doctor in an affluent are of town he selected not to go with the high flow cats and keep his stock cats. The exhaust sounded great and the power increase was immediately felt as he told me when he was driving back home.

stingray23 wroteActually, the customer had the insurance company write him a check for the repairs. He just used the money from the check for the exhaust system. The stock system ended up to be more than the Active Autowerke setup.Ryan,
Did the customer upgrade through his insurance? or did he pay extra for the new exhaust?
