It's an open door. We all know. I am the only one to say it out loud: the .35i is much faster than the M3. Lets face it. It's that simple. Here is just one video:
dragrace 135i vs. e92m3
So - what's your point? :confused2

Not agree. While the M3V8 tries to hit the 8000+ rpm (because below that, there is no torque and power), is the 335i already cruising at 5000 rev's, looking backwords waiting for that poor hard working M3V8 ...
Watch this video moron...
I know that video Donbona. It's a draw by the way. But, the 135i has two passengers! In the M3 only a lightweight guy (ok, with extra sunglasses). And still, the M3 isn't the fastest. Slow starting too. Nope. The .35i is far superior above the M3V8, thats for sure.

 What's the point of even talking to you, you are just a deluded wannabe

Wasn't that a 1/4 mile? What do you think will happen after that? LOL! Comparing a 135 to an M3 is like comparing an STI to a Carrera 4S.

Quality, Performance, Handling and prestige are measured in more ways than just a 1/4 mile. The fact that you say the 135s engine is far superior to one of the best engines BMW has ever built (M3 V8), goes to show how misinformed you really are.

what is your point, I hope it is not trying to convice the world that a 135i is worth more than an E9X M3...this whole thread is about the 335is it has nothing to do with the 135ivsM3. if you are trying to say the .35i is faster, or if it helps your self-esteem, and that you would take your 135i over an M3 any day, I am ver glad for you and your car:thumbsup: still, nothing to do with OP's info..

Wow just wow! Unbelievable:bellyroll:bellyroll
Take it easy guys, he's pulling your leg.

If I judge from the responces in the other thread, he did pretty well!

Yeah, he is just sitting over in amsterdam smoking all kinds of ganga in the pot bars, lol.

But seriously this thread is about the upcoming 335is so enough 335i trolling, be it a joke or otherwise.

I'm glad you say this, so I can make use of my comment in post #9. ;)

Agreed. All the 335i talk is off topic and will be treated accordingly.

Aha, I have to admit that I did not get your joke either, but yes we apparently were thinking the same thing. :)
What we need now is an EVO troll and we'd be all set.
m3 will be faster. There is no way bmw make the 335is faster than the m3. atleast not in factory form. it makes no marketing sense. although technically, it is very possible.

now if you are talking next gen 335, then the answer is maybe. just like 335i compare to e46 m3. Even then the 335i i still slower around the track and cannot compare with the m3 as far as fun/look are concerned.
The 335is hasn't been developed to be quicker than the M3, frankly the very idea is laughable, no the 335is is here for one reason and one reason only......to beat the S4.

I cannot simply believe I find myself agreeing with you. ;)

OK, after reading mkoesel's joke, I get the idea of what your perception was of where it was leading. I guess I had explained my actual context (him using the word "smokes" and me changing the context) in the post before and it was nothing like that. :)

Well sort of... The idea of the 335is is a MY test bed for the new motor. BMW traditionally tests its new motors in the outgoing body so when they launch the new body the motor is already proven (bugs worked out). It also is a way to breathe a little more life at the end of the product life cycle. Nothing more. But yes, competition drives performance higher and higher. But as they say, "Peak power sells cars...high average power wins races."
i thought this section was for m3 competition...all i see is this 335i none sense

agreed!

these N54 vs M3 threads are getting out of hand! the mods should put all of them into one thread and call it a day! :thumbdown

I think when he sobers up from his pot brownies he'll realize that he's missing a few cylinders in his car. Must be some good ass weed though.

I fail to see the point you're trying to prove. It's like saying that a gazelle can fuck up a lion and eat it. It just doesn't make sense man. :confused2

No if or buts about it, this car was solely fought up to not only give the top normal model a mid-life boost of image but to best the new top dog in this sector which happens to be the S4.

We all know that giving the 335i a bit more power wouldn't be enough to defeat it because unlike the 335i it is offered with a torque vectoring diff which makes an OK chassis into an exceptional good one. So BMW will also tweak the handling characteristics of the chassis as well for good measure.

I look forward to those early battles, i.e. the ones conducted in Europe where the weights of both models appear to be that bit closer to see if BMW's latest efforts have indeed being a success. ;)
Not being argumentative and I stand behind my "business decision" reasoning, but I don't pay too much attention to the family car segment so by torque vectoring are you referring to e-diff such as what's on the 135i?

Also given the mindset of Germans, Mercedes is best, BMW second, and Audi 3rd. All these cars enable Germans to drive the style they wish which is fast and they have no issue revving cars to oblivion. They buy cars based on prestige and need as much as anything else. They also know going in it's a purchase for many years and therefore they're looking for reliability and price, cost of ownership, etc. They're not nearly the hairsplitters of elsewhere as they know the car will surely be bested throughout the course of ownership. They build cars for their own needs and wants and open sales up to other regions, which usually means many markets only get a sampling of what they offer. BMW and Audi essentially take turns knocking off each other. It's no big deal. If it were each year would see a complete redesign as seen in the Japanese motorcycle industry. Germans evolve cars over years. They're not so concerned as long as they get good press and the market seem to like their efforts. Every decision is a business decision first and foremost. That isn't to say they don't have performance targets, etc., which they do. But the most important performance target is market share. The vast majority of buyers aren't hairsplitters. BMW also is pouring effort and energy into road safety technologies ... lots of electronics under development. Even the blunt shape of recent bodies is an example of safety in case of low speed impacts with pedestrians. It's another world these days. The big question is what will we do with all these internal combustion engined cars when we switch over to hydrogen? I get tired of the hairsplitting. The classics are where it's at. Passion rules.
