This is fantastic and you have been very concise. Thanks for sharing.
An excellent write up.
Now I think I can do this myself with the help you've posted on here.
Your step by step is the most detailed write up I've seen here. We all appreciate the time you've spent on this.
Thanks

Excellent install....you need to charge more than $90 to do it for another person. BMW charges $100+/hr and that job takes 2-3 hrs.
Very impressive...thanks for sharing.

Thanks Doba for the write up. I'm going schedule sometime and try it next week.
VERY IMPORTANT guys ... BE VERY CAREFUL SWAPPING COIL SPRING CARTRIDGE
doba_s wroteCareful in what sense? Can you provide a little more detail on exactly what we should look out for? Thanks man!VERY IMPORTANT guys ... BE VERY CAREFUL SWAPPING COIL SPRING CARTRIDGE
Please read DIY ... You need to remove only coil spring cartridge and not the whole assembly ... If you remove the whole thing, you would have to recalibrate your steering wheel angle sensor ... My dealer told me it is about 3h or so ...

great diy!
Hey Doba,
I just completed the install and it doesn't appear to be working. Quick question - does the "Performance BMW" lettering on the LCD show up when you have the ignition in on position or only when you actually start the car and the engine is running?
The car is not throwing any error codes. Just nothing lights up and "L" and "R" does nothing.
Thanks.

ButterzM wroteI don't see "bmw performance" light up at all. I'm hoping it's just a power issue.performance bmw shows up for a sec after you start the car. Then just hold the "L" and "R" button until you see the center gauge light up.
Where did you end up tapping in for power? Cig lighter per Doba's instructions?
Sweet! Thanks for all the write ups man.
Cab5er wroteYup. After fixing my faulty wiring to the cig adapter, everything worked perfectly. Doba's instructions were dead on. Excellent DIY.Sweet! Thanks for all the write ups man.
Nice writeup! Thanks for sharing.
I am glad it works ! ... Like I said, take your time and make sure all the connections are solid and nothing was damaged. If you have errors, it means you didn't connect wires right ... If you have nothing at all, it means you have no Power ...
Excellent write up, definately not as easy as I imagined it but I pretty sure I can do it now. Thanks, Doba!
