I samples from all my oil changes to Blackstone labs. Got into the habit when I got my S54 kaboom M coupe engine.

I am not impressed with my first S65 one:

Does anyone else use Blackstone? I would love to compare results.

Wow. You are certainly pegging the value meter. Good job.
Not impressed? Why not, the breakdown just said everything was normal? I'm going back to the movie. :)
Did your S54 Mcoupe engine go 'kaboom'? I never heard of a single Mcoupe (Z3 or Z4) with that problem, bad luck....
now look at that not the best results, its cause the motor is fresh... Metak feel better about changing your oil at 15k, or 10. LOL

looks like it needs it every 5k, especially for the first 15k

There were "plenty" of S54 Z3-based cars that failed. Plenty is a relative term however since it is a small population to begin with. Mine has been trouble free, but I am still going to replace the connecting rod bearings with the newer design.

Yes, absolutely. I will post my 10K results when I get them to see how things change over time.

cool thanks for sharing your results. :respect:
That seems like a lot of info for $22.50. Did you analyze the 1200 mile oil or would that just be a waste of time?

I would have, if I had a better relationship with my dealer. They did the change @ 1200 so I didn't bother asking them to collect a sample. It would be really nice data to have though!
I just had my oil changed at ~ 9,000 miles but I did not ask for a sample because I did not know to which lab I would send it!! I have regrets now because I would have loved to track this info too (in addition to all the other things I am keeping tab off). I will definitely try the next time around. Thanks for the info Jon!!!
JonM, how hard are you driving your car? Any track days?

I probably drive on the street at 6/10s or less and am easy on my car compared to most M3 owners. No track days. Never redlined, always warmed up carefully.
