This video was filmed 10 years ago and they re-uploaded it.

So in that sense, either people are still regulating the same opinions 10 years later today, or people are still coming to the same conclusions and these guys are validated.

Them calling e9x the last of an era, a bridge between analog and digital, and will be appreciated that way in the future is playing out exactly that way now. They said this 10 years ago before the current hype, kudos to them

Also, they're driving a beautiful Space Grey e90, manual, fox red inserts, like it's no big deal. That's a hot car in today's market.

TBH I never really understood the E46 M3 bandwagon. I've driven one a few times and I get it, I really do. It's analog, relatively light, looks great and has that old BMW feel that the E9x doesn't really have.

I've also driven the E36 M3, and honestly I like it more than the E46 lol. To me, the E36 is just a better track-capable chassis.

A lot of my love for the E46 honestly came from childhood memories of NFS Most Wanted. After actually driving one, I thought it was a really good car, I just never understood the "best M3 ever" thing.

I've driven the E46 and E9x on track with almost identical setups too. Nitron coilovers, SPL kinematics, 200TW tires and bolt-on engine mods. AP 9668s on the E46, Alcon CR6420s on mine. So we're not talking about a stock E46 vs a modified E92.

With the major variables basically equal, I still prefer the E9x. The E46 is lighter and more raw, but the E92 feels more planted when you're really pushing it. There's more power, more stability at speed and just a level of performance that I prefer.

And that's why the "E92 is a retired athlete" thing never really resonated with me. I understand what they're getting at with the extra size and weight, but I don't think that automatically makes it a worse driver's car. If anything, I think BMW did a pretty damn good job of keeping the feedback and precision while making the car substantially more capable.

Honestly, when I look at the E36, E46 and E9x, the E46 kind of feels like the middle child lol. It's really fucking good, but I'd rather have the E36 for the chassis or the E9x for the overall performance.

And then there's the S65. A naturally aspirated 4.0L V8 that revs past 8k in an M3. Fucking cool.

I like the E46. I just like the E36 and E9x more.

E46 CSL body with an S65 DCT would be my ideal M of all time. E92 most definitely feels heavier and more plodding with a less vintage or special interior/exterior. S54, imho, is a highly overrated powertrain. It sounds horrible stock.

Those everyday driver guys are super boring. I could not get through the entire video.
