DrFerry wrotehopefully will be in for bearings this coming spring. I will be (unfortunately) moving to SoCal from North Idaho soon. Much better deals on bearing jobs down there.Glad she's still running well at 159K. If you do nothing else this winter, get the rod bearings done, especially with the car being supercharged, otherwise an S65 rebuild, or replacement engine, could cost you well into $20K to $25K - when labor is included. You're living on borrowed time... Get 'er done.

What mileage do I start to think about DCT fluid flush?

Sideways91 wroteSucks because that's probably my favorite spot in MT.. Although I think I'd be extremely happy anywhere in that area.Good call, Montana is amazing. Whitefish has become overrun though.
I know at least one person has a good taste in cars out there. Was shocked to see a red e92 m3 with Montana plates when I was passing through.
I just bought an 08 e92 with 171,xxx miles from Texas. Had it shipped here. From everything Ive had checked out it was well taken care of. Has coilovers, valvetronic exhuast, test pipes, alpine tune and a satin purple wrap
Any pics?
And your car definitely qualifies for this thread!

I had been smelling gasoline occasionally not inside the car, but inside the garage and especially outside the car after filling up the tank in front of the driver's side rear tire. With the help of the forum search engine I narrowed it down to the fuel pump and fuel filter sender unit(s) developing hairline cracks and seeping vapor under pressure from the fuel pump.
Upon inspection the driver's side unit was indeed cracked though the passenger side in tank unit was okay (dry). The local BMW Dealership replaced both in tank units and agreed to match the FCP Euro parts price. However, I discovered Dealerships use a job book hour multiplier for non-warranty work of 1.5 to 1.7. Mine used the 1.7 multiplier. It means although the book time to replace both units simultaneously was only about 2 hours, I was charged for 3.4 hours of labor plus 1 hour of labor for diagnosis (even though I had told them what the problem was). Anyway, I paid a cool $2200 for the job but over $1000 of that was just for the parts. My car now has 157,000 miles on it (approximately) and I believe we are going to see more 2008's start to have this fuel pump and sending unit crack problem.
Since my last post here, both of the Throttle Actuators have been replaced at 124K miles, the alternator was replaced at 137K miles, both timing chain tensioners were replaced at 143K miles, all 4 Vanos solenoids were replaced at 144K miles and both engine mounts were replaced at 145K miles. The chain tensioners, Vanos solenoids and engine mounts were replaced when chasing a knocking noise from the engine bay (which sounded severe - see my thread on this topic here https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2142775). The knock turned out to be failed Vibra Technics engine mounts! Oh, and a new Duracell Platinum AGM battery at 151K miles. I still have to get the carbon fiber roof refinished in August, get the sagging roof lining replaced, as well as new MLT valve covers, new spark plugs and new injectors all to be replaces later on in the year. Phew, this is getting expensive... $$$
Besides all of that stuff above I'm starting to notice the "as delivered" in 2008 black trim "rash" get a little worse and more obvious due to ultra violet and oxidation no doubt. See photos. PS: The Dealership also did the fusebox battery cable connector recall 19V-472.

PS: PS: My car seems to pull harder to red line now with the new pump etc. It's a marginal improvement but my calibrated buttometer says it's real.

I know the feeling. I definitely have seen changes over the years. You don't recover as fast!
My 08 is at 78,000mi, checking in.
I've only put like 2,000mi on it since buying it earlier this year. Have taken it to the drag strip, and I dog on it when oil is warm.
RB and TBAs were done when I bought the car. Recently swapped to NRW valve covers, and replaced vanos covers with mporium ones. Mine were brittle and cracking.
Recently my starter would fail to crank maybe one in 30 times. Replaced that. Also before then my thermostat was stuck open, car would not get to temp in cold spring weather, and would actually drop oil temp when going on highway.
Also changed my injectors proactively. Got them cheap OEM Bosch from Latvia. Other than that, I bought 3 spare used coils, and have also changed my spark plugs.
That is the bulk of the expensive stuff I had done. Also had my tail light leak into my battery compartment because of a pinched LCI tail light seal, so I took wirebrush to it and cleaned it all up. Also replaced my battery.
Aside from that nothing crazy. Lots of small things specific to my car in an attempt to restore it, like buying full oem air box, ducts, air filters to replace shitty K&N one that it come with.
My car also makes the cowbell noise and has drivetrain lash noise when pushing the clutch in, but it honestly doesn't bother me much. At some point I'm sure ill have to replace the driveshaft carrier bearings.
I paid about 28K USD for the car, and have spent a total of 14k usd on maintenance, wheels, tires, aftermarket stuff etc. 42K all in for my favourite car of all time, cant complain honestly.
Oh yea and all the carbon fibre installed by me. Basically any cosmetic stuff or restoration was done by me. 90% of the maintenance stuff I had RMP motors do here in Toronto because I just don't have the time, tools, skills or patience to get into it. Changing the spark plugs was manageable, but not without some swearing.
I want to do my accessory belts and pulleys because the ones in there look original, but honestly after seeing how annoying it is, I will probably just take it to mechanic to do too.
