Now that’s one M I’ll happily trade my 1 of 1 E82 135is for as long as it comes with manual. Low miles clean example of course. Something about that V8 even though I’m not a fan of Bimmer V8s and love to play it safe with their straight six. My M62B44TU on my 01 E38 7er had valve cover gaskets, upper and lower timing cover gasket Plus that infamous plastic timing chain guide. All that aside Just the idea of a flat plane crank with over 8000 RPM On a V8 sounds glorious. I can already hear that Symphony made by the exhaust at top RPM.

But about that Porsche comparison…I wish. The resale value of my lil F87 sucks, no way I’m gonna leave it parked and unabused hoping that helps it gain more value years from now. Hahaha

Sheesh, that is one clean M3. But 17k miles in 13 years... I thought mine had low miles when I bought it.

Bought mine in Oct 2025 with 36,181 miles. It was a 1-owner car. The first owner European delivered it and never drove it in the rain or snow. 2011 E92 M3 (DCT) loaded, minus premium sound and automatic high beams.

Sitting at a good old 36,567 miles as of today I WFH, so I hardly drive. Hmm, I wonder what I can fetch

There’s something to be said for any V8 that spins past 8k, regardless of crank counter weighting. 👍🏼

03/2013 owner and it’s been 13 years & 3 months. Trying to replace certain OEM “performance” parts, even simple things like CF mirror caps, or the more expensive performance seats, has been impossible. Says volumes about BMW’s long-term commitment to its ///M customer base. Merkel was seduced by the Chinese market and the big-3 enthusiastically followed suit. And look where they are now.

No need to render verdict prematurely. Those are mere accessories and are non-essential, having nothing to do with driving, turning and braking.

13 years is nothing. Come back in a decade and we can start talking about E92 OEM parts availability.

F87 will be appreciated as the pretty one. Just in 20 years or so. With manual. Without accidents. In a right color (blue?) and with low miles and not modded. As all of them. The F87 is like the 991 of Porsches. VEry pretty, a bit softer than previous and made a bit in too big volumes. But over time it will become well loved, im sure of it.

I also am sure BMW wants to move up and pick up some Porsche sales. They have M and theyll use recently bought Alpina for it. This allows M to pursue pure driver cars and Alpina pure luxury exclusive cars. I dunno if it will work of course, but Im sure its in the ballpark what they want as I meet BMW and talk to them.

I got impatient so it’s decatted and tuned. And also has camber plates. It’s a whole lot faster now tho. And sounds like a VW Bug and a Honda VTEC had a baby. I can just imagine the BaT questions and judgment now. Hahaha

Oh snap, it seemed like BMW watered down the M brand at times, but on the other hand using it to sell more cars with it makes a lot sense. Alpine seems more exclusive still and I don’t think NA got anything other than the 7 series stuff. Curious to see how it works out.

Yeah this ☝🏾you mean like pointing out the ///M logo on the rims… there are many more significant points to E9X ///M than that. And the prolonged focus of his fingers when talking about different facets of “any” vehicle he reviews is annoying. I think the man doesnt have control of his hands.. Once you see it you can’t unsee it.

Slow down, skippy, take your own advice then rethink your hasty rush to judgement. 13 years is more than double the practical lifetime of ///M products given that we live in an era of quick & dirty commoditization.
Critically essential? No, Nice to have? maybe. But that’s the owner’s call, isn’t it? (In spite of what the high priests say)

Turn signal? You just tap in the same direction and it stops the blinker. Zero problems. In fact, some prefer it.

This. I never understood this ‘rage’ against a lever always returning to center. It functions identically to any other stalk.

He overdoes the clicking to the opposite side, just to look stupid. I’m sure he does this on purpose to generate comments. All you do is tap the stalk, you don’t push it to the other detent.

PS the manual cancellation of the blinking can be coded to happen by tipping to same direction, to opposite direction or both.
