Hello boys, I would like to absolutely drop the bomb here.

Im about to buy alibaba brakes. Car is just toy, not a track weapon, im not a good driver, just a car guy with high mileage, average M3.

380/355 GT6 and GT4 (which is replica, copy, knockoff of brembo old calipers)
price is arround 1060 USD for whole car, which is obviously unbeatable.

Just want to ask if anyone have experience (like experience not like "are you retarded" "do you want to loose your life") - Im guessing many of modern components are made in china, and they already know how to make DECENT stuff.

one of my concern is using handbrake on aluminium drum - as they are floating disc
I just saw a post somewhere about them. They use a proprietary pad that is very, very thing and wears out super fast. You can only buy the pad from them, until they disappear, stop making it, etc.
Not all Chinese products are bad. Not all chines products are good. The problem is knowing which is which.

There are decent knockoff brake kits from China. But there are also the poorly made ones that will crack after some time. If you insist on getting knockoff brakes, I would only get from reputable OEM manufacturers like Dicase. Even Dicase now has knockoff because yes they are that good. So try to reach out to them directly.

Brembo knockoff calipers will take original Brembo-shape pads. And there are tons of options. Brake discs are another matter. U want to make sure you only get standard Brembo sizes so that you're not stuck only being able to source replacements from that one supplier. AFAIK Brembo GT6 front only came in 380mm or 365mm. GT4 rear only came in 380mm or 345mm. This is for E9x M3 fitment. I have 380 fr, 345 rr and have been using China discs for trackday use. Zero issues. They last 1/3rd as long as original Brembo discs but are 1/5th the price. I can't argue with the math.
I don't understand cheaping out on the most important safety item of a vehicle. This is not a carbon fiber lip.

No one asked for my opinion but here we are.
there's more to it than just price and quality, but the availability of the parts when you need to replacement.

and like someone mentioned, a lot of these people are limiting the replacements parts to just their manufacture.
More people use Chinese calipers than they themselves realize. Majority of "refurbished" calipers sold in ebay or by some smaller aftermarket brake kit sellers are actually Chinese calipers. They look so authentic these days, with all the right logos and stamping in the right places. I swear most of the brake kits out there using "refurb" Brembo 18Z or GT4/GT6 calipers are knockoff Chinese calipers. The only real way to tell is to check the piston dust seals - authentic Brembo dust seals have part numbers on them.

While I personally would not use Chinese calipers, I do have many friends who do. One of the fastest E60 M5 at Sepang track uses a Dicase-branded brake kit (not knockoff) and I have numerous photos of his brakes glowing orange, trackday after trackday with no issues.
Healing to see some reasonable answers!

I just placed an order - just FYI - was looking for reasonably priced GT6/4 set - price vary from roughly 1600 to - where I ended up - 1030$ for whole car - paid extra 30$ for floating screws (more like aesthetic)

As you said @Redd I do believe many bbk arround using CN stuff, even at my place it’s very popular to do F80 bbk - using Kamoka replacement calipers, they cost some funny money - and no one have concerns - so why would I - I’m going to try
Buying China kits is not without risk. Many have complained abt fitment issues. I hope u bought from a reputable company. Good luck.
Don't do it. If you don't even use the car on tack the standard brakes are perfectly fine.

Do the F80 brake conversion if you want a good value upgrade. Or the larger N5/2NH/Ceramic calipers if you want something bigger for looks.
I would not purchase Chinese parts for any of my cars or trucks let alone an M3. Majority of China’s bullshit is not tested, they have no R&D and are merely copied from another company illegally. Using crap to save money is a crappy choice. Fuck their cheassey crap.
Is there an issue with your stock brakes?

Man come on.

We are surrounded by that, you might not even know.

Actually that kinda push me to get full set from china, as extremely popular option in my place is using replacement of m4 calipers made by Kamoka… so I thought - If main component is from china and everyone using that and all good…

Absolutely not, in fact, m3 e92 is quickest (and best braking)
Car I’ve ever had. Just had a dream I can’t afford.
You might hate me now

Your car, your choice. You have to live with the consequences.

Brakes, tires, wheels should not be compromised. This is a downgrade from what you have. It “looks” better though.

I think that company is Taiwanese.

Also if they're replicating existing parts then existing replacement parts are compatible.

Very seldom are the chinese making ground up their spec parts.
I once had a left front brake rotor crack almost in half coming under the bridge at Road Atlanta - just before the downhill onto the front straight. It was a code brown moment, not to mention the vibration as the car and steering wheel shook like hell. It was the old Road Atlanta circuit configuration with the back straight "dip". Ultra fast but followed by a massive uphill braking zone then cornering under the bridge and then a downhill! I had another rotor made by "Racing Brakes" fail on my late model Supra Twin Turbo (MKIV) while driving on the street, because the top hat bolts were not properly designed for the fatigue life caused by repetitive high sheer stresses. Saving money on brakes can be catastrophic. I read above this Taiwan made BBK won't be taken to the track, but keep in mind the repetitive braking street driving environment can be almost as harsh. Just sayin'...

No it's mainland China. See the 'CCC' logo above the brake pads brand. That's the China government QC body.
Hi Sorry mate, I had to ‘chime in here’ this is not good safety wise.

But I think (well probably know) this a very bad choice, I just hope your silly decision doesn’t end up in resulting in you or even more so, innocent people being injured or even worse from your decision.

Name brand kits (such as Brembo, Alcon, AP, Stoptech etc) and other companies that make reputable (not cheap Chinese) adaption brakets etc for fitting other OEM calipers and discs, or reputable aftermarket rotors and calipers etc cost more for a reason.

I do not want to start WW3 with you on this but, its a bad decision as others have pointed out.
Well as I mentioned in first OG post:

Only Redd's user avatarRedd Mention a thing about real experiences - and its still by someones.

If guys would see, how many and what kind of cars are in the Review under those sellers, you would shocked. Literally.

But its fine, got it, my ghetto ass and stupid ideas are not worth to update here, let me rest in peace, no more updates, thanks everyone
TBH I am sure these will perform just fine for street driving. Braking systems are not new technology. The metallurgy of the bolts would concern me in high-performance situations, but I am sure they are fine for street driving..

Then why change them?
