Car is now with Pride Auto salvage shop in Sun Valley, CA Neither

Contact them for parts but I can speak to some from recollection or final pictures I took of the car after the fire.

Car: 2009 E90 M3 / Jerez/Blk / DCT

My car caught fire recently and is totaled but some parts may still be salvageable. Interior is not.

Things that might be able to be brought back to life: engine (with work), suspension parts (including 1 way MCS TT dampers), brakes, trans (maybe), diff and exhaust (oem mod (loud version)), some body panels, and a couple of apex arc 8 wheels (2x 18x9” and 1x 18x10”, possibly).

I did not do a deep dive into what’s salvageable or not bc I was having a rough time processing it all. Friends who looked it thought it has some value in parts.

I would prefer to sell as a whole but not expecting much. I have two interested parties at this point and waiting for offers.

Car had 171k miles on it with all major issues addressed except main bearing (if that’s truly an issue): RB’s, TA’s, injectors, water pump, fuel breather valve, secondary air pump, among other things.

Car ran like a champ to the end.

Let me know if anyone has interest or may know someone who is looking for a parts car and I can send pics and/or setup a time to see it. It’s currently in Ventura.

Currently looking for a replacement M3 as well: coupe or sedan, DCT
What about the passenger side front door sill that says “M3”?
If serious, I’ll have to look. Didn’t think to look there.

Anything else? I might be able to get someone to look for requested items since I’m an hour away from there.
steering rack?

Yes I’m serious!

And I’m in Santa Barbara. Happy to go look myself.
Any pictures?
I’m currently talking to 3 people about buying the car as a whole. I believe between the 3, I’ll likely accept one.
If not, I’ll post some pics but they are not pretty and some are difficult to see a lot. The value is in the drivetrain and maybe some exterior parts. Interior is toast.
how did it catch fire? sorry for the loss, glad you are ok!
Any luck with that sill trim piece?

I’m fine, just emotionally scarred. Loved the car for 8+ yrs.

I’ll just say the car was a fighter till the end and it did nothing wrong.

Sorry for the delay.
I’m trying to sell the car as a whole to someone who needs the parts that survived and/or can be brought back to life in a new car. I should hear back any day now and if one of the three potential buyers takes it, I’ll let them know you are interested in that.

Thanks for your patience.
Car was sold to Pride BMW Mercedes salvage shop in Sun valley.

Bimmer Barney: passenger side trim piece looked fine but I didn’t clean it off. I took a pic but not seeing how to post it.

71velle: I did not look at the steering rack but you can call Sako at that shop above and ask him in 2 days. He won’t start cutting up the car until then.

Nothing in the interior survived (fire went up inside the firewall) but trunk of all places looks fine and engine bay doesn’t look too bad, just melted wiring on the outside.
Suspension, diff, engine and brakes, with some work is likely salvageable. A few body panels (Jerez) look good.

Pm sent.
Did your car still have the side mirrors on it and would Pride BMW still have it available possibly?
Do you have the passenger front fender? I’m 20 minutes from Burbank. What color is it currently?
Pride has it and was dismantling as of 2 weeks ago. Don’t know how long that process takes.

Car was Jerez blk.

Passenger side mirror looks fine but driver does not.

Passenger fender looks ok but has scratches. It’s dirty so can’t tell if it just dirt or scratches and dirt.

If you get it off let me know. I planned on a repaint anyway. I’ll be in Burbank Wednesday morning off Magnolia from 8-9am.

I’m assuming you don’t have transportation while in Burbank?

I’m saying that bc it’s not my car anymore and the dismantling by them is to sell what they can.

If I’m available I can certainly drive you over there so you can decide but I don’t plan on going over there otherwise. I’m close to where you’ll be in Burbank (I live a blk off magnolia) and can help out.

No worries. I don’t want to create a trip for ya. If you have their number DM me and I’ll just call them. If not, I’ll just wait for a new one.
