UPDATE II

Completed pairing new CF intake system components:


Partee Racing CF Plenum
Infinity Design CF Intake

Look - IMO, matte carbon look fits my OE+ 'theme' since remainder of engine bay not adorned with contrasting colors, gloss. Both CF weaves match well and designs are complimentary, especially the 'cleaner' plenum bulge

Sound - Amazingly noticeable enhancement, both together, provided a deep snarl under load > 4K RPM and especially +6K.

Performance - No question, coupled with BPM Stage II, throttle response significantly improved.
'Butt Dyno' certainly feels like 'more'... pull mid range and definitely WOT > +6K rpm.

Waited a while to-do these CF upgrades...extremely delighted with both products and results!!!

Yeah thats what I figured. I still have a few maintenance items on the horizon... I believe the tensioner pulley is going bad since the car starting to sounds like it has a superchanger... at first I thought it was intake air sound but its deff pulley sound. I also have a new 2nd hand nav screen coming to replace the scratched one. This is is beyond polishing out. I also have a new 2nd hand door card for driver side that I just got in since this one has a tear in stitching that holds the leather together.

As for the door pull.... I plan on doing that with the door card. I actaully ordered a replacement from china for like $30 but its still in the box so not sure if it fits or what.... if it looks like crap, I'll strip the OEM one and refinish it like I did with the dash.

Oh yeah... also going to pull the front seats out, sand them down, and re-dye them. Previous owner tried to dye them but colors didn't match up so I need to correct that.

Thanks man, yeah I have owned and still own some crazy cars... signature only allows me to add a few. Currently have 9 at the house right now. I do pediatric epliepsy research and drug development for my big boy job but build cars and trucks nights and weekends. The Hummer H1's are my speciality, I have built 15 of them. That one in the background is Nessie... she spent 8 years at the bottom of a lake before I got my hands on it restored it. Im currenlty building a 1965 Jeep FC150 (thats the chassis you see with the 350 SBC in the background) I have always been a german car guy.. I have had X5M, Clown Shoe M Coupe, M6 GranCoupe, 2 M5 Comps.... was a AMG guy for a bit and had E55, E63 Estate, C63 Sedan, C63 Black Series... and still a Porsche Guy, had a 991.2 GT3RS, then was lucky to get an allocation for a 992 GT3RS... wasn't in love with it so traded for a 991.2 GT2RS. They are all amazing cars but the ill tell you this... M5 Comp, best all round car ever!!.... the E9X M3... best M3 ever made.... Porsche... wasn't a porsche guy and used to make fun of my friends who had them... then I dove one and was like F***... I get it now.





This is the 65 jeep FC150... Called Humperdoo... the retarded masia. This truck turned into a complete nuts and bolts rebuild. This what it looked like the day before I tore it down

Nostalgia hitting with the H1s. My uncle had one but yellow back in the early 2000s. He put it through its paces. I'll have to see if we can find some old shots of it out in the woods with broken tied rods.

Yeah man 99% of people have never seen an FC Jeep. I have always wanted to build on and figured I needed break from H1s and found this one out in AZ. Its turned out to be a full rebuild but it will be incredible when its done. I just got in $4k worth of ADS race remote adjustable shocks for it and can't wait to get them installed. Ill fab bumpers and racks for it when the time comes but it will be a little beast when its done.

Hummers have been my love and joy for almost 15 years. Ive built a few monsters which name a name for myself in the world of Hummers. I can take one apart and put it back together with my eyes closed at this point.

Holy crap. I know this FC! Unbelievably small world. Sorry to all of the M3 folks, but I just took a closer look at your FC pictures after you said you got this from Arizona. One of my best buddies that I grew up with - I've known him for probably 30 years - this is his old FC. He moved to Arizona from Georgia several years ago, but I dug up some pictures he sent me probably two years ago and it has the same sticker on the driver side and the same front license plate.

the truck has come a long way.... Full on frame up resto. dropped a new 350 SBC in replacing the old 304 that is in there. Everything on this truck is new. Rebuilt transmission, t-case, overdrive differentials, axles, converted to disc brakes on all 4 corners. Its been a lot of fun so far.

Knocked out a few things...

1. bought a used CIC screen, polished it, and added screen protector... looks like new. Screen protector was a total PITA to install. As soon as I peeled it off the backing from the store the thing swung around my arm due to static. Instantly getting particulate on it. Took me 4 or 5 times cleaning the screen as well as literally washing the protector with soap and water and installing it wet and squeegeeing out the air and water. all in all it turned out good.

2. Had a whistle from the engine bay that fluctuates with RPM. Initially thought it was pulleys but the more and more I got my ear in there it was loudest at the hood air intake... Pulled the plenum and RVT'ed the rubber gasket in the plenum and bingo-bongo it was gone.

3. Replaced the plastic driver side door pull and window switch bezel. I rolled the dice and order some off ebay from china for $50... not expecting much but when it was delivered I was surprised the finish was really good. Has new soft touch feel as well. It was a bit more involved swapping it out but I was aleady pulling the door card to replace it since my arm rest leather was torn at the seem. Just a heads up for anyone who wants to replace this you need to remove door card and then remove the arm rest. Arm rest much come off door card! The arm rest is held on with clips that can be popped out with pry tool but there are 2 studs held on with push nut washers. Then once the arm rest is off you need to break the 2 round plastic weld spots. Once thats done it comes rigth out. The kit comes with 2 screws that take the place of the plastic welds.

Drove my new to me EAG E92 for the first time.

This may well be my fav M car to date and I've owned many mint examples. Only current mod is Eisenmann Race (necessary, lovely) and en route are Ohlins RT and custom three-piece wheels with stepped lip.

The door pull looks great! It looks to match quite well - even if it didn't, a clean non peeling pull looks much better.

Do you mind sharing the link to the one you bought on eBay? I may have to put this on the to-do list

Swapped back to my 359M/Ps4s setup for winter. Missed this look, and it’s nice not sliding everywhere in the rain.

New spark plugs are in too, a bit over due looking at cylinder 4.
