Hey there, this is my first build thread post. Recently picked up my dream spec e92 m3! Here is my 2013 e92 in Alpine White, No Nav, CF roof & speed cloth interior! Definitely a pleasure as I’ve wanted a car in similar spec since I was maybe 12-13.

Mods the car came with:
Ohlins R&T
AA X-Pipe w HFC
Stromung/AE Rear Section
F8X Break Kit Retrofit
Epic motorsports tune

So the car I chose was listed on here, from a gentleman from South Carolina. Honestly want to give this guy a massive shoutout, because he took tremendous care of the car, Fantastic mod choice too, right now don’t think the care needs much of anything. As far as the exhaust goes, Im super impressed with how tame it is on cold start (cold starts quieter then my daily) and around idle, and how much it opens up during spirited driving. Suspension, I mean.. Ohlins is Ohlins, I would have went this route regardless if the car I bought didn’t have it 😂 Super glad to have this taken care of already.

Paint is in fantastic shape, but upon seeing the car for the first time, I was most impressed with the condition of the interior.

Car has small imperfections as to body line/panel gaps, but outside of that I am so happy with the purchase. Car feels, looks & sounds great.

Finding a car was such a pain, I’ve been looking since around July/August 2024, but glad I waited as long as I did before pulling the trigger on this car. I was trying to find something drama free, that was tastefully modded, and I’m glad to say I definitely accomplished that. I was trying to shy away from buying a car from outside of my region at first, but after viewing many cars that looked good on photos, but were clappers in person, I bit the bullet and bought my car sight unseen from the forums.

More updates to come!

Here was the car on delivery day in Febuary. Unfortunately couldn’t be there. Car sat under a cover for the next month and a half as the weather in my area wasn’t great, and I left back to work for the month soon after.

Currently in the process of getting a garage built at my house, I’ve had the car under a cover for the most part to preserve the roof clearcoat and stop dust accumulation from precip in the meantime.

Fast forward to coming back from work the beginning of this month. Tires, lip & cat deletes for the xpipe!

I had bought my wheels long before the car. Ended up getting a refinish as there was some damage and the weather wasn’t looking too good earlier this month, so I wasn’t in any particular rush.

Call me the king of diamond silver. Here they were next to my diamond silver TE37s on my daily 😂.

Now, about a week ago, it was time to install the wheels and lip.

Ironically the previous owner had RIAs in a similar spec and had the height already dialed for them. Yet to make any height changes. Front specs were slightly different, so I’m running a 5mm spacer to clear ohlins.

Also found out here that the previous-previous owner might have used the stock hubs for the break retrofit, given that it looks as if the break heatshield looks bent back. This has been slightly annoying running 200tws since rocks will often get stuck inside. Also clear to me that the front springs are definitely not original to Ohlins, likely to run the camber plates.

Looks wayy better than it did on the 220m wheels 😂.

Been blessed with some nice weather this past week, haven’t driven my actual daily at all. Really enjoying the car, no regrets so far.

Met some friends already! This community definitely an upgrade to the unfortunate dying Subaru community.

Got both cars cleaned up, pollen unfortunately making it hard to keep clean. Can’t complain about 70-80 degree weather though!

As of today, went to get the car inspected and unfortunately failed. Looking like I might have to switch tunes.

The one that came with the car turns off all o2 sensor reading which causes 3 monitors to read “not ready” you need 1 at most to be “not ready” to pass inspection in NYS.

I leave for work again next week and will be gone much of june, should give me plenty of time to rectify this issue efficiently.

Car looks good though!

Car looks great! What test pipes did you go with? I’m looking for a set now for my car.
Looks great! I live in NY, I have test pipes and BPM stage 2 tune. Always passed inspection for 12 years straight! Never had a single O2 monitor. Highly suggest

I have an Active Autowerke xpipe thats HFC on the car right now, so I got the delete pipes specific to the xpipe, but I know they make testpipes for the stock xpipe too.

Thank you for the insight! I reached out to Epic to see if we can work something out but I know its a big ask. Probably will have to go down this route.
Update as of today. I decided to take extra time off work to go to on a trip to Helen GA with a bunch of my car buddies. This will mean a 1500 mile round trip in the car.

Front end and roof is in good condition on the car and im pretty worried about rockchips on the highways and backroads.

So I ended up deciding to drop the car off for a front end and roof PPF before I leave in two weeks!

When will you be in town? I live in the area - some good roads to be had. A possible route choice in the area I jotted down:

Made it to Helen!

Having a great time so far. But unfortunately the car has been having some issues. When I turned the car on It threw a P0492, decided it was fine and started heading down to Helen. Made it down here and yesterday after fill up it started and the idle became rough and boggy then went to limp mode with a 5k rev limit.

I was on the way to the dragon with the group I came with and decided to turn around and head back.

We quickly read codes and I had bank 2 missfires. Going to do an indepth check this morning to specify which codes exactly.

This issue seems to only happen at startup, but if I keep the car moving then it doesn’t go to limp mode and will idle fine after. Drives completely fine otherwise.

Without looking at codes right now, with some indepth research on the forums its looking upstream o2 related.

Going to pick up a new sensor this morning and swap them around to see if this issue can go away atleast temporarily to get back to New York.

What’s interesting is the upstream o2s are relatively new, could also be an exhaust leak as well, or maybe the connections are bad? Who knows. Want to atleast see if it fixes with a new sensor so I can drive around and cruise today as its the last day.

Bummer, but definitely looking to prioritize all preventative maintenance jobs the rest of the season/coming winter so I can come back next year with full confidence!

Also have a track day at Mpact poconos coming up!

Made it back to NY just fine! PPF is such a blessing when it came to taking the entire ecosystem of bugs off the car.

Still battling the issues from earlier. Definitely upstream o2 related. I’ve made a seperate thread for it under general going into greater detail, praying for an easy fix.

Will definitely get back to Helen next year and actually hit the dragon and Wayah 😂. Planning to throw the book at the car with preventative maintenance, especially since I have track days coming up in August.

Seeing some of the cars there and the whole Helen experience definitely has me thinking about the future direction I want to go with the car.
