car is running WPC treated bearings, about 30k miles on them. i did an oil analysis when I swapped oil coolers, and blackstone wasn't very nice -- had slightly elevated aluminum and a bunch of silicone. the stuff in the filter is non-magentic, so it _could_ be aluminum i suppose. copper, lead and all the other stuff was within spec.

no odd behavior from the engine itself.

Just a follow up on the codes. I reset them, after dealing with my Carly app and devices that had not been used in a while.

Ordered a new dongle and another versions. The Carly version is still in the mail, its been over a week.

As for the codes, the Carly didn't tell me what they were, because of the issues above. But it did reset them. So no idea what it was, but it's cleared for now. Have not driven it much due to not having a reliable code reader. Hope to be able to next week and see what comes up.

Upgraded the Valentine 1, Gen 1 in the E92 to the V1 Gen 2 and repurposed the Gen 1 into the E36. Love it when a plan comes together.

I let her stick her nose out of her den…but she saw her shadow, which means 6 more weeks until summer driving season.

Also installed no holes license plate

Been a really fun couple of weeks. The car had developed a front end clunk before I put it away for the winter. Guessed it was the tie rods, which would require an alignment after replacing. Figured a suspension refresh would be a good idea.

Lined up front monoballs, fresh lower arms + tie rods, Hotchkis sway bars, SPL sway bar links, solid BW subframe bushings and fresh diff bushings. I had a very hectic month dealing with some parts issues. Will say, the guys from Bimmerworld are absolutely fantastic to deal with. I won't hesitate to do business with them again.

Just got the car back today from the shop doing the rear end work. Front end clunk now seems to be gone with the fresh parts. The car also feels much tighter, even just driving through traffic. Now I just need to finish spring cleaning on the car, and then get it out on the road.

Well, my freshly paint bumper only last a short time before Louie got to chewing it up again. I'm going to have to find a solution for the mean time. Maybe one of those large extendable/collapsible baby gates?

It really was. I'll be taking it back to the same guy on Tuesday. On another bad note, my neighbors 4 year old decided to carve his name into my mother's car door with a rock. So maybe ill cut a deal with the paint guy and have him do both

It’s a test, who do you love more? Since it’s not your daily, can you put a barrier (sheet of plywood) where the car is parked? Maybe build a crate for the front? Can’t chew what he can’t get to. Once you have more time, train him that’s daddy’s toy, not Louie’s.

Yeah, ill definitely be building some type of barrier. I've also noticed if I just pull the M3 in front first, with the front bumper up close the wall, he dosent mess with it. And definitely have been working with him more on training

Sorry to see, but at least he has good taste 🤣

Side gills have been black, blue and over the last years white. Stripped the tape, back to original chrome, cause classic.
Uncertain if some performance is lost, will report back.

Yeah, he's actually very well behaved in all other aspects. I think it's just when I leave the house the he gets anxious and bored and starts chewing on things.

ok, last one for a bit. finally hardwired the catalyst, and wired the AiM Solo into the CAN bus for moar datas.







I think I'm ready to go. First track day 4/24.

Replaced the battery...again. Changed two years ago, went cheap with 80Ah acid lead. Wanted Lithium but Antigravity local reseller wanted 18.900kr (1760USD today) which passed the limit even for my M3. So here we are with another 26Kg AGM.

Happily noticed a clean and dry battery box. While the drain hose was smashed. Ah well, shouldn't be needed with the AGM.

I happened to be in The Netherlands at the time (on vacation) and I always check for auto events before hand and try to take them in.
