I love this spray wax

Just thought I would share a product I've been VERY happy with. Mother's CMX ceramic spray. Ok technically not a wax, it's a spray "ceramic" sealant. But this is by far the easiest wax/sealant I've ever used. And results are great. Give a nice glassy shine. Beads water like nothing else I've used, although I've never had a real ceramic coat done.

After wash/dry, spray onto microfiber and spread over painted surface. 2 pumps is all you need per body panel. Let dry 5-10 minutes and buff. It is the easiest product to buff I've ever used, comes right off. Do your car a 2nd or 3rd time if you have time, it can be layered.

Since it doesn't contain wax it will not dry or stain plastic trim. Also works like rainX on your glass.

It's pretty good, and it's one of the few options that contains tio2 which adds a bright pop to the surface.

I used it for a couple of years. It looks great and isn't horrible to work with, though not great either. It can leave little white balls behind, kind of weird. It's cheap and readily available.

The bad news is that you can get the same look with products that are easier to use. Those other products will give 6-12 months longevity not to mention true ceramic coatings that give 12-60 months protection. I never got the 6 months that Mother's claimed.

Not a bad product by any means, but there are so much better out there now.

The CMX line is very good overall though. I think their 3n1 polish is fantastic, though with no oils (no need for panel wipe) it is hard o remove after buffing.

I also like their CMX surface prep. Most panel preps are closer to $20 for 16oz whereas the Mother's is 24oz and it's like $11 on amazon.

Mother's is a very trust worthy, quality brand, but they're a bit stuck in the past, more geared towards the consumer going to autozone for detailing stuff.

Yeah I figure there are better products, just thought for the price, ease of use, and availability, the results from CMX are pretty stellar. Can do the whole car in 10 minutes including buffing and it shines. I've been using it for a couple years now. Still on the same bottle haha.

CMX really is good, and it can fill a spot between wax/polymer spray and full on ceramic coatings.

But, as I alluded to, there are others that are just as good if not better (except price sometimes)

Carpro - Reload, elixir, ech20
Gyeon - Cancoat, Cure, wet coat
Shine supply - Clutch
Gtechniq - v3
And any newish "sio2" product from mckees, wolfgang, sonax, P&S, meguairs, pinnacle, blackfire, adams, griot's et al

Seems like every brand, even 'ol 303 aerospace, have some sort of sio2 spray that is good for clay lube, waterless/rinseless, quick detailer, drying aid or even full on sealant.

The higher silica content sprays like clutch, cure & reload will out last CMX, have better hydrophobics/looks as well though CMX does look pretty great (I think the tio2 is its best feature at least makes it unique)

Some, like uber sio2 waterless, mckees sio2 waterless and ech2o waterless wash cost only about $20-30, but with proper dilution, you get gallons of spray so they're very economical.

Thanks! I will check one of those out once this bottle of CMX goes empty. I have no issues spending more on a bottle if it's a nicer product, especially since so little is needed to do one car.

Don't think I've ever gone 6 months between coatings, especially since the CMX (and these others) are so easy to use. I wash my car about once a month or more.

I like watching this guy for random detailing products.

I’m starting to transition over from Griots Rinseless to the 3n1. I’ll try to pay closer attention to the results. Make sure you have lots of thick pile microfiber towels. They’re one and done with it. Rags to riches couldn’t save mine.

Love videos like that. Looks like the Griots 3in1 may be my next purchase.

Ok I get what you mean. After buffing traditional waxes, microfiber-specific detergent cleans them up. For some reason ceramic products really do ruin the microfibers.

Well, not "ruin" them. But they def need to be downgraded from car paint duty to other applications. Until eventually they become grease rags lol
