DanMpower wroteDid you ever find a worthwhile shop?Hey guys, bumping up this thread.
So is ABS and Strasse Sports still the two top go to shops in SoCal?
I'm VERY anal when it comes to any type of paintwork. I need to have front and rear bumpers resprayed Space Gray.
I absolutely hate doing any type of paintwork on my cars because I have an eye for spotting slight paint shade differences, how the metallic flakes settle in the paint, small imperfections like fish eyes, tiny debris etc. I also would like the finish texture (orange peel) to match the factory. It would bother me if the finish is too smooth from over sanding and buffing or vise versa.
Do you guys think I would be happy with their work?

Silos wroteGoing to have to look into that one for when I get a eurospec bumper. You're local to me; I had a shop here in NP respray an OEM side skirt, after mine had an encounter with my jack stand. He had me provide the gas cap lid and was able to match it pretty dead on. He did warn that it's almost impossible to get it 100% because you can't match weather conditions the day your car was sprayed from factory. But he said he said they can get pretty dang close.
They are called Conejo Valley Auto Center.
Are you the frozen grey e92 I see around?
Oreo Cat wroteNo sir, my car is Space Gray w/ yellow Brembo's and I am actually in NP. What color is yours?Going to have to look into that one for when I get a eurospec bumper.

Worth checking out ABS in El Monte. I'm currently getting a new hood painted there. They came highly recommended but doesn't hurt to check them out first.
redEYEjedi wroteWhoa!....now hang on sec, did you do an engine and body part swap to the E91 pictured in your sig/avatar ? If you did pretty sure we'd all like to see more pictures of this....and sorry if this has already been shown. But from the small picture, your car looks BOSS! And wanna see some picturesJust not for any major mechanical work, like engine swaps. Speaking from first hand experience.

Cheers,
Merlin

Just found some MEAN curb rash on my F31, and need to plan for a respray…granted, I’m Estoril Blue…
ABS autobody is the go to in socal imo.
mym3adventures wroteWould love to find out as well. How much did the roof repair run ya?
Quick plug for SOS Autocraft on Sawtelle if anyone is West LA.
They painted my (same) CF trunk on both Jet and Jerez Black (Jerez being the current one, was a sand down and respray job), both were great work. Also installed my splitters, side markers, and diffuser.
Owner is a Porsche enthusiast, and is knowledgeable and involved on his shops work.
Only challenge is they're a small and heavily booked shop, so may have to book ahead a couple weeks.
