Hey guys, I'm debating on weather to go Alpine or Gintani for my Tune , if you have any I would appreciate if you let me know what you think of your tune setup and which one gives you more power gains, thanks.

1. Gintani Stage 2+ with e85. Not sure if they offer DCT Tune.

2. Alpine Motorsports standard tune, +20-25 hp, with all the add-ons(DCT & E85) +15-25hp over their standard tune(total+/-50hp gain)
50 rwhp from a tune? No. 50 rwhp from a tune plus all the bolt on mods, yes. I’d buy from a shop with a dyno that races, like Epic. I use the Epic Race Tune.
I'll be going with Randy at Epic or Mike at BPM

That's one of my options, Epic motorsports stage 2, they advertise +23hp gain but they don't offer e85, do they?
Don’t know. E85 does add a little more power due to the oxygenation and even more if you tune for it by increasing ignition timing, but if so you must run only E85. You cannot swap back to pump gas unless you change timing back. Might be worth 10 rwhp over a 93 pump tune.

No E85 within 75 miles of me, unfortunately. I use meth injection with a tune that increases timing up to 5 degrees when the meth is flowing.

I also looked into BPM Stage 2, I guess they dyno'd at 430+ RWHP and they do offer e85

I have plenty of e85 around me(north California) and I'm also buying flex pro, meth sounds so good but I'll wait on that until I go SC, I'm looking for the most gains fbo and Tune but there's so many tunes out there, would u says epic is better than Alpine?
My understanding is that Alex tests the Alpine tune on track.

I have tracked my stage 2 E92 M3 many times and it has performed wonderfully.

I don't believe you can go wrong with Alpine, especially for the value and flexibility.

The flex fuel kits let you run pump gas or E85 interchangeably but do not alter ignition timing. If you want the real power potential of E85 you must increase ignition timing. But then you cannot run pump gas, regardless of whether you have a flex fuel kit or not. You will have to leave timing stock, but might still gain 2-3% in power from the oxygenation.

If you want the most gains, buy an E85 tune that raises the timing and run only E85. To run just a little E85 and mostly pump gas, just flash back to stock tune. The flex fuel kit would still require flashing back to the stock tune with its lower timing targets, but would let you have more E85 in the tank.

I’d like to see that 430 rwhp dyno. I personally do not believe it.
If you're staying N/A for now, just grab a tune that will save you some money. Results are nearly identical across the board and if they aren't, the power difference is so minimal that you won't even feel it.

I went with Alpine when I was N/A and went with BPM when I supercharged the car.
Why not the Dinan tune? It's nice and smooth with a decent bump in power.

Thats likely FBO++ car. And likely seeing that 430RWHP at the top 1K rpms with likely loss of tq for DD.
I still don’t see it. The best a full bolt on car has done on pump gas is about 400 rwhp SAE Dynojet. I can see E85 tune adding 10-15 rwhp but not 30 rwhp. Cams plus E85 would do it but next to no one has added and so far.

That's what I was thinking, the price is literally half Gintani, how is the back fire on the Alpine Tune? I seen Gintani's many times and the flames are crazy lol compared to that is it about the same or significantly less? Some nice pops and flames wouldn't hurt with fresh rod bearings

Burbles are optional with the Alpine tune.

They work very well and are available on command (rev to over 6K and get off throttle) but it was a bit too much for me. He offers a few levels though.

You need to be catless for the "flames" lol

Because other tunes offer more power

Yeah, I have another thread so I can decide what set up I wanna do for the exhaust, not sure if I should add resonators or my performance mufflers to the catless X pipe or just send it straight pipe, I'm just looking for mthe most power posible on Fbo tune for now haha

Do they also offer the same level of reliability?

How would u describe the Alpine vs Gintani Tune Im also looking for burbles and flames lol

They are all dyno tested, I mean if you really really wanna be safe Dinan would be the best way to go, also significantly cheaper, in this case I'm just looking for most gains of a FBO TUNE
I feel you. Indeed I prefer reliability. I've been running Dinan for a while, the power band is so smooth and linear now. I like it a lot.
