Really!! Wow, I honestly cannot tell the difference between the Nappa in my MB and my E92M3!! But hey, maybe MB uses Novillo and calls it Nappa, or my "feel" nerve is FU!

lol, there's no plastic on the M3 in an other color than black. When you see a silver, red or beige lower dashboard, that's leather.

Guys

Having sat in both, the extended leather is really worth it. The additional leather really adds to the "premium" feel of the car and helps to distinguish it from the otherwise regular 3er interior, one thing that most reviewers have remarked on as being disappointing.

That said, if I had my heart set on black leather, I might not bother. FR, PS & BB definitely.

Click on my interior pic image. Color aside, the leather on the seats flow right into the the console, dash, and doors. It's all personal preference, but I do like the look.

Is it worth 1.1K? That's the question.

IMHO, it's not worth the cost. I got nearly every other option, so I'm glad I saved some money somewhere. I also didn't get the the Sirius radio, so I guess I saved money there too.

All good questions indeed!!! The difference that I can see in Mercedes-AMG Nappa and my M3 Novillo (which means calf in Italian) to other leathers is that they are really much smoother, have no imperfections or wrinkles, smell better and feel much softer and supple (again, I own and MB AMG and the M3 and cannot tell the difference between these). I should say however that I can immediately tell the difference between these leathers and other “less expensive” MB or BMW models. If there is a difference between Mercedes-AMG Nappa and BMW M Novillo leather, I cannot for the life of me discern the differences!!! So, I do think what that leather guy told me is probably correct, that they are in fact the same. I have not stepped into an E46 in at least three years so I don´t know if their “Nappa” is the same and Mercedes-AMG; from the above statements, I suspect not.

Didn't get it. Money wasn't the reason. I would have selected the option if I'd chosen another interior color, but Fox Red didn't look that great to me in extended. Just too much red.

No, it doesn't. It has leather on the bottom of the dash, up to knee level, and then stops. Porsche extended leather wraps the whole dashboard and looks intense. I don't like BMW's mini-extended leather.

I agree completely. The Fox Red needs some more black to balance out the interior. Because BMW half-assed the extended leather, I went with FR.

If they had really done extended like Porsche, I would've gone for the black as a FULL black leather interior is beautiful. If they offered deviating stitching color like Porsche, ... I feel like the extended leather is a "nice try, but not quite there" on these cars. I'd rather have the regular dash than have someone ask me why I didn't get the option "to have the top covered too." The E46 Individual dash was available completely wrapped in leather so I'm kind of disappointed that BMW didn't carry that forward. Just my opinion.

I have ordered my M3 with Extended Fox Red Leather. I think It completes the Interior Better.
Without Extended Leather, IMHO the interior looks Half done.
I had Imola Red Interior in my E46 M3 and I wish BMW had the Extended Leather Option
available when I was Ordering my Car (e46 M3). It would have look 10x's Better.
What I would really wish BMW Did was Really make the Extended Really "Extended"
by wrapping the dash too like the P cars with color stitching. I dont know why
they still half assed it. Anyways, I still think the extended still completes the
interior better then without it....

Actually I was speaking to those coming from non-M cars like myself..my last was a 330i and I do prefer the black leather in the M of course. I just mentioned it because someone had said something about plastic and the fact that new M owners may not realize that center console was black leather, I had no idea and was happy to see it.

i think Novillo feels softer than Nappa leather. when i sat in the E92 M3, it feels softer than the E46 M3.
