I've got a friend in Chicago who needs some paint work done. I remember that A&L up in Palatine was well-regarded and IND even used them for custom stuff. Are they still a good choice?

Custom Cars Unlimited in La Grange (Ferrari certified) was the other that is probably the best in the area, but they're really pricey and always busy.

I've been gone for a few years now so not sure what's changed, if anything. Thanks all.
IND is A&L and A&L is IND. They are the same company.

A&L is great. I took my M3 there after i was rear ended back in December for repairs. They did a great job fixing my car and the paint matching on my mineral white is perfect. I then had their work inspected at EP3 and then again at BMW dealer this week when i went for an oil change, both places said repairs were well done.
A&L and IND are owned/co-owned by the same guy. I thinkkk they even paint the parts IND sells at A&L.

Only thing is you may have to wait 1-2 months for an appointment, but I'd wait if it were me.

Appreciate the comments. Sounds like they are still a top-notch place for paintwork.
Picked up my M car from A&L last week. Melbourne Red OE Euro nose and MP High Kick trunk spoiler was a perfect match. Waiting to get a nice evening to post some pics of my journey a year into ownership but I couldnt be happier with the professionalism and quality of their work. Val and Anthony went out of their way to make it happen for me with a set of sweet custom OE blackout headlights as well from Zito @ Zworks Automotive who is local to the Chicago area. Thanks to all of those involved!!

Picked up my e90 M3 from them two weeks ago. They refinished my front bumper, installed and paint matched a front lip, also installed skid plate and rear diffuser. They did a great job, the paint is perfect. Great place to take your car for body work for anyone wondering.
Do they install coilovers? Wanting to get front bumper repainted and wondering if they'd install coilovers as well

Sorry to necro this thread, but I'm in Chicago and just got back from a road trip and a rock gouged a decent dime size area out of my bumper. Can you let me know which shop you used?
