Carbon fiber roof clear coat damage

Thoughts and options? Who can fix this kind of damage? It's all the way down to the carbon fiber

Search around. There have been a couple of threads on this kind of damage and how it was fixed. General consensus is that it's best to remove all of the clear coat and gel coat and have it completely redone. Once it yellows and separates in one place it just spreads across the whole roof.

this. OP check the forum for fixes. There's a couple threads where people have had these professionally repaired. its doable.

Body shops can fix it but most don't have the balls. People are scared of carbon but it's much more forgiving than you'd think. You can sand on it pretty good until you screw up the weave. wet sand and when the water starts to get cloudy or gray then you're hitting the carbon and it's time to stop. Plus wet sanding will keep the carbon wet giving it a shiny appearance that will show you what it will look like when cleared.

Sand out all the damage and re clear the entire roof. Sounds easy and it is. Again guys that don't mess with it think it's a magical and mysterious product.

2m in San Diego can fix this

The problem people keep thinking is that the clear-coat will be sunk/eaten by the carbon weaving. But because the carbon has already been treated with resin, it is stiff and no longer eat the clear. So sanding it down completely with 400 grit won't be an issue, once you see a matte look of the carbon fiber, its time to apply a triple clear pass.

I don’t know any other shops around San Diego. We have a member Phantasticpham who had his roof fixed by 2M and it looked brand new..I saw it in person
