vid is cool ken. the coilovers are pretty amazing. from what i remember from my one trip to sonoma, you're able to get on the throttle a lot sooner than i was. what camera/data system are you running? display looks good.
Not strictly track related, but my E92 does still see the track a few times a year when I want to give students demo rides but not deal with the track car.

Now sitting half an inch lower on MCS 1Ws, GC camber plates, with a Dinan Front Sway bar.

Going to drive it for a week or two to get the ride dialed in. I now have two cars with MCS, neither one of which is *MY* track car lol.

(My wife's track Miata has MCS 2WR).

@MPower7's user avatarMPower7 it was HOD group D (fast advance / open passing)

I think it was 20-30 cars. Most of us kept pretty good pace, from the ~1:45 - 1:58 kind of pace so not much traffic. Only issues was an odd old RX-7 "racecar" that you seem me slamming on the brakes and turning to avoid ramming in turn 3. Also had to slam on the brakes in turn 10 mid corner because of that driver. Organizers "addressed it" with the driver, but he still ran with us in later sessions. Was put to end of the start grid.
I saw that, pretty bad of him to drop the anchor there. He was just putting along at 20% pace

It's waylens - their new v2 mount that comes with newly sold systems is amazing. Swapped up to that! Give it a shot!
https://www.waylens.com/horizon/

I believe they still offer 10% off if you hang out on their "shop" page and don't purchase.

I got sucked into registered for Thunderhill East on 2/24 with Speed SF with "challenge" session added - class S3

They had a nearly 50% discount for Horizon on Amazon so that's another place to keep an eye on.

I just wish they had other mounting options. I like to see what my hands are doing so I prefer a behind the driver mount. Otherwise, it looks like a nice package. 10Hz GPS is really good.

There is.... if you go to their shop page and then click to horizon accessories, there are multiple mounts - some are go-pro mount compatible with ram mounts, some are handlebar mounts that might work with cages. Those types use external GPS, so you can mount the receiver somewhere with line-of-sight to the sky.
Is anyone going to COTA this weekend with MVP Track Time? I'll be there Sunday.

Facebook Car Groups usually, often followed by "sick exhaust yohb" and excessive bragging that they won the "race" on a freeway.

As dogbone already said, you would need a supercharger. Places like Pocono are around 1/3 mile. I'm not sure of the starting speed.

The supercharger is just the start. You would also need better cooling, grippier tires maybe some weight reduction, and a lot of practice at whatever roll-on speed is designated at the particular event.

Even with all that stuff, that's a pretty mild car for today's standards. Cars have gotten soo much faster compared to when these roll races first started.

Thanks for your detailed response.

From what I have seen it is a 55-60 mph start.

I should add, based on your suggesting supercharger, I could care less about winning against the person in the lane next to me. Most of the time looks like it could be a f-ing Gallardo/Huracan/GT-R based on videos I have seen of prior events.

I just have the need for speed and want to hit/beat personal top speeds.

Yeah 55-60 is the worst starting point for the M3 powerband. Too fast for 2nd gear and too slow for 3rd gear.

Superchargers are pretty cheap now. An ESS 625 kit with a smaller 92mm pulley and a 5 gallon supplemental water tank on 93 octane should be a terrific combo. For tires those new Michelin PS4S (successor to Super Sport) are really grippy for straight line.

Good luck!

Thanks again for continuing the info stream.

What gear would you suggest?
Who was the guy interested in my old ap rotors to make a shop clock out of them? I have a set for you.
