Fusebox behind glovebox - How to Remove Connectors?

Hi guys,

I am going to repair the big battery cable going to the back side of the fusebox behind the glovebox. (Car started intermittently losing all power)

I have all the screws out and have the fusebox tilted forward enough to barely see a whole bunch of connectors going to the back of the fusebox, the question is how do I unplug those connectors, Its pretty hard to see back there and I can't see any sort of tabs that need to be pushed in or anything.

Any guidance would be appreciated, I don't want to break those connectors back there....

I believe there is a service bulletin out for this... it's different than a recall, but it is free. Call your local dealership to verify.

Hmmm, Well I just about have the whole thing apart at this point.


Me - Hi I heard there was a service bulletin to have some free work done to my 8 year old M3.

My 7 year old 2011 (build 9/2010) was well out of warranty and they did the fix no questions asked. If your VIN applies, you should have received a letter about it a few months ago.

There was a very limited range of M3's that were included in the recall and mine wasn't either. I did the repair myself and it worked out. I used the instructions here and it wasn't too bad.

I didn't get a recall letter either, but was experiencing problems. I made an appointment with a local dealer and when speaking with the advisor I asked to perform battery cable recall with the service bulletin in hand.

Do you remember how you removed the connectors from the back of the fusebox?
