ah ok. I still emailed the dealership to make sure. Thanks Fifth. Hopefully my car goes to production next week!! :happyanim:
No problem, i freaked out at first too and emailed my guy and he said just let the system update. As for production, it might take a few weeks...My order went in 1/31 and has a week 11 build. So thats about 3 weeks #111, 2 weeks 112 and then finally 150...
I was looking all over for the number to call so may want to add that it to original post:

1-800-831-1117
I placed my order on 1/26 and started using the Owners Circle. I found calling the customer service number 1-800-831-1117 gave me far more info. All you need is either the production number or the vin when you call. The C/S number follows the production code numbers far mor detail...

I just called the 1800 number and spoke to a Jared. He told me my car is currently in the paint shop and should be completed by the 16th or 17th. I received my production on 2/8/08 and didn't order 19" wheels or DCT. Hopefully this helps someone with their timeline.

Yes, it is not "confirmed". Have your CA give you a Vehicle Inquiry report. There should be a date next to "Req.Prod.:". Mine said 2006/02/06, which means Week 6 February production. Mine was completed 2/5.
yeah. he printed out the report and theres no req. Prod. Date....

theres a Act.Prod.Date: but theres nothing in there. i kinda panic because i dont want to wait forever lol

Did your order 19s or DCT? Those could delay getting even an estimated date.
It seems that they are catching up. I ordered a coupe with M-DCT and 19" wheels and started with a week 19 date (order placed on 2/21/08). This went to week 15, then 14 over the next two weeks. I didn't check for about a week and half and then my car was already in production status 151 and is due to be completed tomorrow (3/31). Thus it was actually built in week 12/13 production.

ShadeM3 - my advice is to check again this week. You are likely to get a date but don't be surprised if it moves up. This is important if you are contemplating any changes in your order. I was all set but would have missed the lock-in date if I had been waffling between options.

WCH- thanks for the advise i am going to check again this week. Seriously i think the waiting is killing everyone.
PISSING ME OFF! called bmw usa and they told me they dont use numbers anymore to tell me what production code # im at right now! why is that? who do you guys talk to on phone and next time ima ask to talk to them lol
Last week my E93 M3 had production status 155. It means the production is completed. What time is now between this status and delivery ?
Mine just went from ordered to production... anxiety begins.

I ordered mine on the 29 of Dec. and my CA told me today that I was still status 1 and would have to wait a little longer before I can begin tracking. Does this seem reasonable? What has been your experience thus far?

I placed my order Jan. 6th. I think the first time I checked the website was a few days later and it was on there. Even now, after a week, it shows up, but with wrong specs. I was going to wait another day or so before emailing my CA. From what I was told is that each dealerships have certain priority slots and depending on when they submit yours, is when you go in the line. :confused2

With that being said, a quick phone call should alleviate any of your concerns. It's hard waiting though... but the weather in WA is bad and I still want to do some spring cleaning in my garage before it comes so it's ok timing with me.

It is only available via your BMW Center.
Damn, so you mean every single time I want an update I have to query my CA at my BMW Center? That will drive him and me bonkers.

I was under the impression that - well at least one used to be - buyers were able to check their car's status via bmwusa.com or similar. No dice on this, huh? :confused2

Edit: I just saw the 1-800 above. But then another posted that bmw was not giving out info - guess I will have to find out myself ...

The BMW USA website is behind and I use the 1-800 number. Seems to be real time and you can track it as much as you want (at least twice a day for me ;) You can talk to a representative if you want to on this number.
Good luck !

:drink: Thx.

I tried the 1-800 and got the msg (great!) that the production query was down due to maintenance - damn :mad0259: But at least I know where to go for info which is cool.
Yes it looks like their system is down today for maintenance.
Try tomorrow it will probably be back up !
Is there a link from BMWUSA where i put in my production number to get a status on my production? I looked on the website and can't find it. I have signed up through the owners section of the webite.
