I am back! Maybe with the wrong car? ;)
Need Group Therapy................I spent the morning with fellow enthusiasts but this bunch just didn't get the whole manual trans thing. "It's not as fast" and "Who wants to be a slave to shifting". I explained the hands and feet involvement thing and being a purest all to no avail.

I think you either get it or you don't.

Hi all, long-time BMW owner of many different chassis here, all were manual transmission vehicles. I'm currently in the market for an E90 M3, and have been searching for a Red car with 6MT for many months to no avail. One absolutely beautiful car has just become available that ticks all the boxes except one: it is DCT-equipped. Is the DCT really that bad? I promise I'm not trying to be a troll here - this is a legitimate question. Do I need to be talked back from the ledge, or could I be happy with the paddles? Help!

I think you could be happy with the paddles. I am too afraid of that one moment of not having three pedals and then I'd constantly try to validate why dct is better. Because it is faster and more technology wouldn't be enough for me to be satisfied because neither of those involve my driving skills.
Belated request for entry; while I just missed a 1 to 2 shift yesterday on my high speed on ramp fun run, my overall coordination has improved greatly since getting my e93 6MT this summer...

Happy holidays!

Greetings. Happy to announce that I am finally joining the BMW family after years of lurking. Just picked up my 13 e92 M3 in Alpine White and Fox Red Interior in 6 speed manual. Spent the whole weekend driving her around and all I can say right now is that I am in love... Here's some photo of the car. I will be doing a photoshoot this weekend. Will post more update later!

Picked up my BMW m3 about 3 weeks ago and I was searching for one literarily for months! I used to own a e92 335i 2012 and that one had been lemoned because of the crazy amount of issues it gave me. Then I had bought a VW Gti and I absolutely hated that car! So I got rid of the GtI and began the search for a m3 and finally found one! She is a 2008 e92 alpine white m3 with 26k miles. I'm very happy with the car and I do not daily it so I only take it out on the weekends!
