Nice chatting redpriest and thanks for the tip going around turn 3. Someday I'll grow some balls like u but in the meantime I did get faster and learned a nice line there.
roastbeef wroteI have a picture of him to prove that lolM3 Number 86 wroteHe's a dedicated man. He's got that fire inside him. If he started on karts as a kid, I have no doubt he would be a pro and we'd be watching him race on tv.@redpriest got a 1:52 today. Second day In a row helps a lot. Now I need to catch him! Bastard haha
While I'm looking for free mouse pads and koozies in the vender booths, he's studying his race data.
Getting the rear loose on the M3 for the first time on track with NT01s. Some moments were frightening TBH, like an 80-90 MPH skid at T2 that I managed to control (no clip of that).
TfaiberO wroteFamily things getting in the way sucks. I need more income lolM3 Number 86 wrotesame here bro, Wedding in 6 months, so financially, I'm down and out on the canvasLol you must be ballin outta control! Although pfc is expensive.
I just want an st40 for front. Baby coming funds limited. Shit.
redpriest wrotei can't wait to get more seat time at acs with speeddistrict. now that i have driven the course and have your video to study, i really want to go back. it is hard to visualize the character of the turns without driving them first. i know my turn 5-6 was garbage and my last sweeper heading into the roval was botched most of the time (way too wide).
i don't know why people are so afraid of the roval. keep on the gas until the speed starts pushing you up, then gently let off.
M3 Number 86 wrotelol i'm not that big. i just need a seat thats about 1" lower.Because you're huge!!
M3 Number 86 wroteyea, i didn't hear what his complaint was. open passing was new to me and definitely took some getting used to and i think i crowded people a few times. i think i did a good job of keeping out of the way of faster people though.I didn't go to that meeting and someone told me that someone was calling out a black one for sliding but couldn't recall number or two or four doors. I said it means he was too slow and too far back to recall and/or never caught up. Therefore not my problem lol
You let me pass on short straight before turn 12 and I almost didn't make it. Pfc08 are pretty damn good. Maxxis rc1 are pretty damn good too
///Mobbin wroteIt has been working great so far for the bike. The Execuhitch setup is similar to what you see installed in Europe where the receiver is hidden. Instead of a ball, you can also get a standard 1.25" or 2" attachment. My bike rack was 1.25" so that's what was in the pictures. Not planning on a trailer, but will use my hitch haul once I get some dedicated track wheels/tires. It swaps out the stock bumper so it's easy to return to stock when I sell the car. It does add probably 15 pounds to the car though.Nice find! This guy is a track guy now also, tadmcmichael tell us more about your hitch! Tire trailer worthy?
i got a question for you guys that frequently change brake pads. do you open your brake fluid reservoir when spreading the pistons? is it putting harmful stress on the piston seals, or reservoir by not opening the cap?
the first time i did it, i took the cover off to watch the fluid level, but did not remove the cap. everything seemed fine.
a buddy suggested removing the cap to ventilate the system. i had it in my head that not opening the cap except when necessary to add fluid/etc. was optimal to avoid expose the fluid to air/moisture if i didn't need to. thoughts?
also, got a free bottle of liquimoly fuel system cleaner at bimmerfest. anyone ever use it (or something similar) on their s65?

roastbeef wroteI've never opened the cap and never had problems. roastbeef wroteYou should start high and come down you'll be faster for sure. You can get on gas earlier to be faster approaching 3. But I'm slower than you now so who knows lolredpriest wrotei can't wait to get more seat time at acs with speeddistrict. now that i have driven the course and have your video to study, i really want to go back. it is hard to visualize the character of the turns without driving them first. i know my turn 5-6 was garbage and my last sweeper heading into the roval was botched most of the time (way too wide).

I will be coming with a vengeance now though. Ha
M3 Number 86 wroteI'll have to try that. I experimented with different lines through the bowl and found I liked it down low, but a high-low transition might be the line to try.roastbeef wroteYou should start high and come down you'll be faster for sure. I was either trying a mid line or a low line. I was more comfortable with he low line. People mention the wall being intimidating, but I honestly didn't even look at it... I can imagine taking your eyes off the exit would mess people up big time.
Anyone heading out to Thunderhill (5 Mile) with HOD this weekend? Pretty sure I am coming up from SoCal
roastbeef wroteI open the bleeder screw so any nasty bits that have settled out into your caliper come out and don't go back up the line.i got a question for you guys that frequently change brake pads. do you open your brake fluid reservoir when spreading the pistons? is it putting harmful stress on the piston seals, or reservoir by not opening the cap?
admranger wroteHow much fluid do you use like that? Is it just a quick open, or do you leave it open while pushing the pucks back in?roastbeef wroteI open the bleeder screw so any nasty bits that have settled out into your caliper come out and don't go back up the line.i got a question for you guys that frequently change brake pads. do you open your brake fluid reservoir when spreading the pistons? is it putting harmful stress on the piston seals, or reservoir by not opening the cap?

For our cars since power and heavy you want to enter fast and exit fast.
Let's try for jun 24th. I'm gonna let work know tomorrow that I'm out that day for sure.
I gotta beat you there!
i would like to try that high-low transition. what i had been doing was full throttle until the car started pushing up, then gently lifting (never brakes) until i could feel the turn-in comeback to the car and balance the turning/throttle until i was back at full throttle.
not sure about june... depends on how hot it is. i'm off that day. might check and see if i can squeeze a laguna seca trip in this summer. otherwise, i'll be returning to acs with speeddistrict on 11/19.

I'm sure it'll be blisteringly hot that day, lol, like it always is. I'm almost counting on it, so I can see if I go into limp mode with all these upgrades
I need to get under 2 min, would be amazing if I could accomplish that when it's a billion degrees out.

I'm about to order the Rogue Engineering front tension arm bushings, anyone tried these and liked them? I've read a few positive reviews and no negative. One person mentioned that it makes the steering wheel feel more communicative. They also importantly noted that once you install them you can't turn it off! As these are still more conservative than monoball spherical bearings I think I'll be okay.

Nice videos everyone. You guys all killed it out at Bimmerfest.
