APEX EC-7 18x10 ET25 (Square): Running Spacers?

To those running a square a APEX EC-7 18x10 ET25 setup, are you running any spacers either front and rear?

I'm interested to see what is possible to run in front or rear.

To note: I already own both 15mm and 12mm MS spacers that were used with the OEM 220m wheels. I have seen some running a 12mm spacer in the rear in various APEX wheel threads. Is this not too aggressive?

Can someone post a pic of a car running this set up? Also comment on any rubbing issues with this setup?

Running 18x10 et 25 (BF GOODRICH Rivals 285/35/18)

My old setup was KW V3s and needed a 3mm spacer to clear the upper spring perch.

Currently running Ohlin coilovers and will have to check today if there is any rubbing, but when I mocked it up with a jack it cleared without an issue.

I'm running the OEM struts, so I don't think clearance will be an issue.

mills84, was the 12mm spacer in the rear necessary for the wheel to sit flush with the fender?

Contacted APEX and they recommended a 5mm spacer in the rear for 18x10 ET25 square setup.

This is a conservative recommendation, since peoples camber settings and tire choices vary.

It looks great! Do you ever rub as the 12mm spacer is pretty aggressive for the rear with that offset?

I'll have 18x10 ET25 with 275/35 PSS.

No rubbing, even during an autox. It pushed it out flush to match the fitment on the front. I would imagine the dunlops would rub before the pss would due to the squared vs rounded shoulder.

Thanks for the additional info! I already have 12mm rear spacers on the car with my OEM 220M that I'm about to swap out. This gives me a bit more confidence in the setup.

I ran EC-7 RS3 square on a stock suspension, no issues. Very aggressive fit up front, no need for a spacer. Rear needed a spacer, 5-10mm likely. Poor picture and I needed a drop, but here it was.

Thanks for the info. The side walls on the RS-3 seem to be more squared than a PSS. What are your camber settings like?

Run 305 up front on 18x10 et 25. 12mm spacer to clear suspension. -3.5 Camber up front. I can use less spacer depending on the brand of Coilover Spring.

Does just barely grazes the liner at lock.

Rubbing issues with KW V3s

5mm spacer doesn't look like it would help in the KW situation. Did you run a bigger spacer?

I have clubsports and have some 285s and would like to hear what you did to remedy the situation (probably will work).

I'm running EC7's 18x10 on 275/35/18 and ran into a similar issue as MkPOTO, the spring perch in the front would hit the tire so I had to raise the car up a few turns to clear. Very little space between the strut and the tire but that isn't an issue.

No spacers and I'm running KW Lower spring kit currently.




Issue i was running into, the perch needs to be above the tire in order to clear.

I was running into the same issue on AST's. At first the lower perch was hitting but a 5mm spacer corrected it. The rim was actually contacting and not the tire. Then changed to stiffer spring and spring diameter increased also. So went up to 12mm spacer to move away from the spring.

I've run 285 with 5mm spacer and no rubbing anything at all.

295 with 12 mm spacer. No rubbing anything at all.

305 with 12 mm spacer just barely touches inner liner at lock. Tire makes more contact with brake duct hoses than the car.
