iDrive to display Asian characters?

Not sure if anyone has asked this question here before, but iDrive on my 2011 car displays Chinese song names as little square shapes which obviously are not readable.

I was told had my car come with BMW app, I could buy a module to display Asian characters properly?

Anyone else has this issue / a solution?

Only Asia model can display Asia character.

If you have ipod dock in center console and use plug in, it displays your ipod language. Hope this helps

what do you mean by "use plug in"? i have tried this and that doesn't work...

Plug in feature is enabled when you put your iphone in center console dock.

You need Combox and 6NR to have "Plug-In" feature, under ConnectedDrive Menu.

that's also what i'm looking for

do u display korean on a korean ver navigation system or on a US ver navigation

i'm in us, so i do want to keep my navigation of us, but i do need to display chinese for my music -- any possibility?

I have US spec M3 and am in US.

You can display Chinese as well after Combox + 6NR retrofit.

I just have Combox + 6NR retrofit done on my car, that's all.
