2010 PDC button?

Just picked up my car yesterday. It has well surpassed my expectations. Looking at the manual it shows a PDC button next to the rear shade button on the bottom row of buttons. I noticed that mine doesn't have a button there just a blank. I had to get out and make sure that the car was spec'ed properly, and indeed I got pdc which seems to be functioning properly. Can anyone else that has received a 2010 with PDC comment whether they did away with that button?

We don't have the button - Not sure what it's for anyway since PDC is automatic when you put it in reverse. I think the manual you are looking at is the thick 3 series manual and not one of the two M specific manuals.

it is for the Euro front park distance control.

weird it shows in both the 3 series and M3 manual.

Would be nice to turn off the rears if you are sitting in reverse waiting for someone to move or something.

it is for the front PDC and not a the rear. We don't have front PDC, so this is why you don't have that button ...

Neutral = OFF . Plus you save your clutch . But yes, a switch would be better indeed.

That's strange indeed. Is the US M3 LCI getting front PDC? Could be.

Have a 2011 M3 convertible. Would love front PDC. Anyone added it? Can we get the euro parts?

I would like a front PDC also. Does anyone know of an aftermarket?

I did a Front PDC Retrofit last week.

Automatic Activation
The park distance control is activated automatically by engaging reverse gear. Activation
takes place with a delay of about 1 second. This delay prevents unintentional activation of
the park distance control when passing through the R-position when changing the drive
range.
On vehicles equipped with a central information display, it is possible to select whether
the distance to the obstacle is to be indicated visually.

Automatic Deactivation
The front and rear park distance control remains active after disengaging reverse gear.
Automatic deactivation of the park distance control is initiated under following conditions:
• Vehicle speed greater than 12 mph/20 kmh
• Distance greater than 50 m

Manual Activation
The park distance control can be switched on
or off by pressing the PDC button (2).
Illumination of the function indicator (1) in the
PDC button indicates that the park distance
control and therefore the distance recognition
function is active.
Manual activation of the function is possible
only up to a road speed of about
12 mph / 20 kmh.

So what's the answer? Is there a button to turn off rear PDC or are these instructions for front PDC?

There is no button to turn off the rear PCD. It's activated when the car is in reverse. It will turn off automatically when you take the car out of reverse. That's the behavior for a car with only Rear PCD.

The instructions relate to the behavior of full (Front & Rear) PCD.
