I placed an order back on June 22 for a 2011 e92. I get the call that I'll be able to pick her up tomorrow, but the sales manager says that there's a price change of $900 because of BMW and not the dealer. Any word on what this is exactly?! Would I be able to talk them back to the price I originally settled for? Waiting 3 months and just finding this out is pretty crazy I think.

Price increase is for the 2012. If they're doing it on a 2011, sounds like they're trying to rip you off. If you guys already agreed on the purchase price, they should honor it. If all else fails, you can also out the dealer here so we know who it is!
Can he back that up in any way?
Window sticker or anything from BMW saying there was a price increase?
I assume he's trying to charge you for the increase in price from 2011 to 2012?
Unless he's selling you a 2012

He said he'll show me the BMW letter, I'm not exactly sure. At this point, sad to say, I might be signing over even if he can't do original price because that 3 months wait was killing me. I'll keep this thread updated to see why he threw this at me, but I will do my best to get back to the price I originally agreed on.
I'd bet if you ordered, it didn't get in to the 2011 production run, and you have a 12. Just my guess, but that would explain the price jump and the wait. They stopped taking orders for 11s the second week of June, according to my SA.
But you get more standard features

There are a few others on the same boat as me, but haven't seen them post regarding this issue.
If it could be the 2012, would the online tracking just be off then? Because for the whole duration of the wait, it's been 2011 M3 Coupe. And it was built the first week of August if that helps make a better timeline.

A bunch of us have the 2012s on the way and we're paying the 2012 prices. This doesn't seem right for you to have to pay the 2012 price.
Look at Jason's 2012 pricing sticky where it describes the prices for the 2012 models (which are only just now rolling off the production line). You should print out the 2012 pricing sheet and show it to your sales manager. Maybe he is mistakenly charging you 2012 prices. Good for you for questioning this!

Just to highlight: new standard equipment includes alarm, floor mats, etc. And the convenience package and premium package were combined into a single package (ZPP -> which also now includes the power sunshade).
I think after you discuss the 2011 vs 2012 packages with him it will be clearer. Congrats on the new car man!!! Take tons of pics!
PS: Just the other day I was checking out a 2008 at the dealer (you know, just looking
) and the sales person told me straight up "you can't order a 2012 M3" I just smiled and was thinking (uhh, yeah, I just ordered one). Maybe he meant I couldn't order one from them. (I ordered mine from Ryan Amico with no problems (two thumbs up!!!).
