That’s what I said! Clean title, 4 owners… as of today I’m like $18k into the car but that includes rod bearings being done.

On the hunt for fox red interior.
Last week was a week....

My last E90 M3 was another AW E90 M3. Slicktop, Speedcloth, and single hump, DCT. I did everything to it I wanted to. Clubsports, E88's, Meisterschaft exhaust. Was everything I wanted. Impulsively, bought an FL5 Type R and sold the M3 since it had 156k miles. Wanted something new, start a new chapter with a new car. Owned it from March to August and I loved it... the car was almost too good. But it was missing the soul of an S65. The Type R would put laps on the E90 in terms of performance to be frank. Handled great, had simple new tech, warranty, it was comfortable.. but I never even really got the itch to mod it.

This M3 came into my life and I was going to flip it. The goal at that point was make a few bucks and find my forever M3... With the price of cars going up and it getting harder and harder to find the perfect spec... I thought... This car actually checks a few boxes for me. It's AW, it's an E90, no accidents, 6 speed, and single hump. It has a sunroof... which I think I actually like now that I think about it. BUT the Bamboo driver seat is torched and just makes it rough.... So the only thing stopping me is the interior at this point from it being my perfect spec.

So my thought here is, let's keep it and make it my perfect car. I have detailed it to where I am pretty happy with it. Did a full two step correction and did a simple coating on it.

I am in the process of getting the maintenance dialed in. I have an email out about E88's.

In the next 4-6 weeks the car should be receiving:
Ohlin R&T Coilovers
Cooling system upgrade (T-Stat, Waterpump, hoses)
OFHG replacement
Valve Covers
Rod Bearings
E88's
Currently has a cheap exhuast. Might put the OEM back on with the OEM mod on the muffler to give it more of an OEM look.

Over the next year I want to work on dialing in the interior. I got a quote to reupholster the entire interior in OEM BMW cinnamon. I think it would be the only AW E90 M3 with that color interior but no clue...

Secondly, paint a few of the roof trim pieces and order some new moldings around the windshields.

After that, car should be pretty solid and over time continue to fix things and dial it more in...

But for now, this is my happy place. My EM1 with 103k miles and my 08 E90 M3 with 118k miles on it. Grass is not always greener on the other side, and I hope to be in this platform for many years to come.

Awesome you are keeping it! Like you said, forever car and you have all the time you need to make it yours. Thats the way I see it and you started at such a low price, you can justfiy all the high dollar parts so good on you man! Have fun with it and enjoy.

That. Garage...well done! What motor is in the EM1? I was a VW kid but all my friends were Honda boys. Few if any kept their cars, I did.

Keep searching for that Fox Red interior, they so rarely come up for sale in good condition so you gotta jump when they do. I got mine the day it was posted and drove to NH to get it, paid over $3k and haven't seen a nicer E90 Fox Red set come up since and that was in like 2022 so just be prepared. Or grab those Bamboo M Performance seats in the classifieds and get a new bamboo center armrest. I'd also remove or replace the M badge on the back, get the Blackline tail lights (I'm also pre-LCI!) and euro visors and be done with it.:)
