Love the new look.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but it seems we've lost some functionality. The old site had a link over on the right side of a thread list to actually see who had responded to a thread, allowing much easier ways to search content from a specific poster. Will that be coming back?

Couple of questions on member profiles. Reputation used to be mostly totals for appreciates. Now when you click on your own profile there are two new categories: Reputation score and Tier. What are those and what is the criteria? The Reputation number in the circle is about 3 times larger than the old reputation score. Also "View public profile" does nothing - is that still waiting to be populated? And, under Threads, you could also see how many hits a post received. Not there now.

Thx
Tbh I’ve never used that function myself so I can’t give a fair answer yet. Let me look more and see how that works. What I’m trying to do it tease out all these smaller functions and see if they can be done in a better way or if I should just copy/paste the functions. While I do my research can I ask how do you typically use that function? Meaning how does it help you with a thread?

Now for reputation all the math and tiers are still being worked on and perfected so that’s why I don’t want to go into it to much yet since it will likely be changed in the days/weeks/months ahead. But tier is essentially similar to the user title grade (private, liuetenant, general)

And yes public profile is still being worked on but I left that as a placeholder mostly to remind me to do it 😀

Thanks!

If there were 300 responses to a thread, you could click on the 300 and a list would populate with all the respondents - and how many responses for each. Clicking on the response number for a member took you to just their responses in the thread, without scrolling through dozens and dozens of pages sometimes.

It's helpful, because you might remember that @bimmerboy10 had a response with information that is helpful to you, you just don't know where. You could go to his profile, but then you'd be searching thru ALL posts and not just the ones on the thread you care about. It was a great feature.

Thanks

In all honesty I’ve just never seen it or used that, is it possible to show me where it is, I can’t find it anywhere!

Your description is pretty clear and I think I have an idea of what it would be like and it's something I can do. But its better for me to see it first and really get a solid understanding of it

It doesn't show on the new site. Here's an old screen shot of one of my posts in the F90 Forum. Clicking on the 15 brought up a tiny drop down menu with each person who had posted to the thread, ranked from most to least, each person with a numbered link corresponding to their own posts. Click on that number and you'd be taken to a list of all their posts in the thread. Then you could just click on the post link you are interested in and you're back in the thread. You might be 40 pages back and several months even. But you didn't have to endlessly scroll. The 4,434 indicates total views. Ringing any bells?

It would be like highlighting and linking this number

Yes I was thinking of putting it exactly there, from there some kind of dropdown with the people list. I have to think some more what happens next. I could imagine the results would get out of hand on very long threads, but look for basic implementation of this coming soon

You da man. Long threads, like the Random Pictures threads, just had a really long drop down list

Ok I have the initial version of it working on the thread page. it's a little bit hidden for now, but you have to click on the participant counter and go from there. would love to hear feedback on how it works for you

PS> This is for now only working on the 8/M8 site

Ok......if you click on an individual, their posts come up, but they are not in chronological order. I think they used to be sorted descending, most recent on top.

That should definitely still be happening (most recent on top), can you tell me which thread and which user you are seeing that nots the case so I can look into it more

Any thread - try "Sideview" thread. Pick any user. I don't think anyone's posts are in chronological order
