Looking for CarPlay suggestions

Just got a 2012 e93 m3. It has the cic system. Upgraded oem audio. The screen is scratched and funky looking so I’m looking for a replacement screen with CarPlay functionality that doesn’t require using the aux cable for audio. Does this exist? Thanks

Doesn't exist.

Get a replacement OEM screen and then get a Mr12volt.

Thanks for the reply. I see a ton of screens that say they’re for my year car however the part number isn’t always the same. As long as it’s a cic and the same size will I be ok?

As long as it's a CIC screen for an e9x, it should just work.

Before you replace your screen, just remove the antireflective coating as that's usually all that's scratched. I used a few baby wipes but I assume just a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol would do the trick. Before and after shots are here. And yeah, add a Mr12volt for carplay.

Thanks. I actually did this last night with meguires plastic polish. Pulled out the screen, removed the trim and cleaned it up. Came out pretty good!

+1 for mr12volt.

Install might seem daunting but can be done in half a day if you take your time. Need to code out CD changer BEFORE install. Sometimes you don't need to code that, but better to do it before just in case.

You need to code IN the CD Changer as that what the Mr12Volt mimicks.
And the new P3000 does the coding itself.

The only thing you need to do is when you have a factory CD Changer, you need to unplug it and use the MOST loop terminator to close the loop again.

Brother installed it on his CLS550. Works like a charm.

I haven't tried Mr. 12Volt, but I've had good luck with the latest Bimmer tech MMI Prime Carplay unit. It's the only aftermarket CP unit I've had that doesn't cause the MOST system to go nuts and throw CANBUS errors after trying several other Chinese ones. It uses AUX rear without need for the headphone jack cable.
