After owning the classic E90 M3 V8, I was completely captivated by the magical sound of the E-chassis and its smooth, engaging handling. That experience led me to decide on picking up another E-chassis car—this time an E92—to build the perfect car in my mind: an E92 M3 GTS.

After a long search, I finally found this pristine example with just 45,000 km. The car was completely stock except for an M Performance exhaust installed at the BMW 4S dealership (which genuinely surprised me when I saw the official service records). From 2012 to 2025, the car was fully maintained at BMW 4S, making it an exceptional foundation. Not only were oil and brake fluid serviced on schedule, but even the engine mounts, M Performance exhaust, and wiper blades were all replaced at the dealership.

For the repaint, a process that does not damage the electro-coating was chosen to preserve the factory anti-corrosion protection. The paint was sanded to below 100 microns and above 50 microns, followed by mid-coat primer, base color, and a double-spray, double-bake clear coat process. From primer to base coat to clear coat, all materials are PPG (鹦鹉), with PPG 447 clear coat.

The color is matched to the factory Fire Orange (U94).

The repaint is currently about halfway complete, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final result.

In addition, a custom-made, high-quality double-layer carbon fiber GTS-style front lip with a 20-day production cycle is underway, and the carbon fiber rear wing will arrive soon.

Instead of factory wheels, I chose custom-made Gudesi track-spec forged wheels with more aggressive and fuller fitment:
19×9.5 +22 (front), 19×10.5 +22 (rear).
They will be paired with 255 and 275 Cup 2 tires, fully expressing the GTS spirit that blends street usability with track performance.

Of course, the build also includes Recaro SPG XL seats, Karbonius carbon fiber intake, AK full exhaust system, do88 cooling, KW V4 CS suspension, and AP Racing 9665 front / 9449 rear brakes with Pagid pads—all fully prepared and ready.

E92 M3 “GTS” — stay tuned.
