Effective August 18th 2025, Essex will be implementing a price increase of approximately 5% across select product lines. This adjustment is necessary to offset recent tariff developments and the rising cost of goods from our manufacturing partners worldwide. Essex remains committed to providing the highest quality products and exceptional service to our clients. This change helps ensure that we can continue to deliver on that promise, despite the ongoing turmoil in global trade markets.

Find brake upgrades for your e9x M3 here: https://www.essexparts.com/my-vehicle/2008/BMW/M3/E90%20Sedan

The affected product lines include:

AP Racing Competition and Road Brake Kits
AP Racing 2-piece J Hook Disc Kits
AP Racing Brake Fluid
Ferodo Racing Brake Pads
Ferodo Racing Brake Fluid
Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines

If you’ve been considering any of these products, we encourage you to act now and lock in the current pricing, before it changes on August 18th. While we're hopeful that this will be our only price increase in the foreseeable future, we will need to respond to changing market forces as necessary going forward.

If you have any questions, please sales@essexparts.com or call 704-824-6030 to speak with a live brake expert, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm ET.

Thank you very much for your continued support!

Will AP be manufacturing in the US later? Any plans from AP? Have you talked to AP about this? Thanks!

Why? They are a UK company.

Now is probably a good time for an update on the tariff situation...

Yes, we have been talking extensively with AP Racing on this topic. And yes, AP may produce discs in the USA at some point in the not-too-distant future to support our efforts in both the aftermarket and professional racing in North America.

Tariffs have been a hot button for us and have been wreaking havoc on our business this year. Here are just a few insights on how we've been impacted:
  • Due to the fluid nature of the situation over the last several months, our executive team has been forced to hold a recurring weekly meeting specifically on tariffs.
  • We have gone so far as to hire a law firm that specializes in tariffs to exclusively focus on this issue on our behalf. This alone has cost us a pretty penny.
  • The laws, edicts, mandates, or whatever you'd like to call the new rules surrounding tariffs are literally changing by the day. What was true last week is not true this week. Products that have never received a tariff previously are now being assessed for a tariff.
  • We're being told that the harmonized codes we've used on products for decades are no longer valid (the codes used to designate what exactly an imported good is). Harmonized codes applied to a product one week are changed to a different code the next week without explanation.
  • Tariffs are retroactively being assessed. The other day we got an invoice stating that we owe $10,000+ for products that arrived from abroad months ago.
  • We're being hit with special additional tariffs on metal products such as aluminum and steel (which obviously impacts most of our brake products).

In short, tariffs have been a fiasco for us and are damaging our small import and distribution business (we support roughly 33 employees and their families). :( Fortunately, Essex has been around since 1982 (44 years). We remain strong, and we'll get through this just like we have everything else over the past four plus decades. But yes, we are currently exploring alternative avenues with our foreign suppliers on how we will continue producing the premium brake products our customers want and expect.

Please note that we will be starting our 2025 Black Friday sale on November 10th, and we will be offering some fantastic deals on our e9x brake products, including both our Road and Competition Brake Kits. Thank you very much for your continued support. When you purchase from Essex your are supporting the 33 American families in Charlotte, NC that I mentioned above. We really appreciate you.:happy0180:
