Looking at the performance wheels and wondering if it is a DIY install. I've done wheels in many cars before with airbags, just disconnect the battery. Same with the E92 M3?
Indeed, thanks very much. And a breathtaking DIY at that.
I completed my Performance Wheel install using the link above. It's a pretty comprehensive DIY which is good. There is a lot of stuff you need to do, including modifying wiring harnesses, etc. Took quite a few hours, but everything works nicely now.
That install did look pretty ambitious. I was thinking about the currently available wheel without all the lights. Just wanted to see how the airbag releases and what the wheel bolt looks like. Looks like a piece of cake. So i guess there are no issues disconnecting the battery. I read somewhere that you can't change a battery in a new car, because the system resets and then needs to be deactivated by the dealer. Actually read this in Roundel. From the looks of the install, sounds like BS!!!

If you're speaking of the "regular" Performance wheel with the yellow stripe on top, then you basically just swap the wheel. The airbag/middle portion does not change. You use your OEM one. There are 3 bolts that come out and the wheel slides right off. You put the performance on right back on. I disconnected the battery because I was working with the airbag. That was a bit of a pain to get off since the pins you push in are pretty hidden.

The ones that have the LED lights is a much more involved process.
