lucky guy...i didnt even know vorsteiner made a cf hood! whats the weight ? whats stock weight?

45lbs. for the stock hood is not even close.
Jon probably 'guessed' the weight, or that was some marketing BS he was fed by Vorsteiner. (to make their cf hood look more appealing to potential customers)
The weight of the aluminum power dome hood is ~25.5 lbs. with the trim pieces installed. The BMW parts ETK weight will confirm this fact.
Not much can be gained by going aluminum vs. carbon fiber. (as opposed to steel vs. carbon fiber)
Especially when the carbon fiber part in question, is mearly a CF overlay /w/ fiberglass core.

BRR Racing recently put a vorsteiner hood on their 135 and noticed oil temperatures dropped an average of 20 degrees after extended track runs. If the oil is cooling down that much, just IMAGINE how much the air temperature is cooling down under the hood.

Also the E9x M3 doesn't breathe the air from under the hood so I'm not sure your point on that?
edit: oh pretty sneaky, I just realized how you put good info on the 135 into the M3 thread to sound like it does good things for the M3 as well
