More Sparkling Graphite E93 Mods - But lost a screw, anyone know where this hole goes

Well, took some time today to install my MS air filter, black grill, and do the clutch spring delete. I'm really happy with the way they all turned out. To me, the new air filter sounds noticeably different, there's more of a low end growl. The car does feel peppier to me... could be my imagination or ?could it be the fact that my old one was so dirty (see pic below).

The clutch spring delete was a PITA because of the limited working space you have, combined with how dark it is back there. It was SO worth it though! Its so much easier to shift quickly and smoothly now.

The black grill looks sweet on SG I think... I was torn because I thought the normal grill looked pretty good but I think I'll leave the black grill. I included some pics below of the shadowline trim that Brandon from EAS did for me last week. He did a fantastic job and it looks so much better than the metal trim around the windows that us E93 owners are stuck with!

One question... in my haste, I lost one of my screws into the hole marked in the pic below. Anyone know where this goes? I don't think there's any way I'll be able to get it without dismantling the whole front of the car, but it would at least be nice to know my engine isn't going to explode from it. It fell down not into the grill area but down the passage that leads down (behind the grill). I'll probably just get another one from the dealer and forget about the one I lost. Go to a auto shop and buy a nut retrival magnet on a flexable wand, there only a couple of dollars! and poke it down the hole!

Looks good! I didn't realise there were aftermarket air filters available for the M3 yet. Can I ask the model number and where you got it from?

HA!!!!!!! Too funny... you beat me to this post. I lost the SAME screw in the SAME HOLE this morning after and was going to make this post. I painted my kidney's satin black yesterday and it looks good! Anywho... I used a magnet on one of those antenna like 'things' that extend. No luck...it has to be flexible because that whole bottoms up about 6 inches down and it goes left and right (i saw that after i loooked down with a flashlight. I'm not going to sweat it. I figured I might get to it if I take some of these items apart again if i decide to get scoops. For now, the other 3 screws seem to hold the area securely.

Hahah that's pretty hilarious. I thought I was an idiot for dropping the screw down there lol. I ended up getting another screw from the dealer, just don't like the thought of an empty hole sitting there heheh.

Looks awesome. I wish Sparkling Graphite were available in the 09 models. I settled for Space Gray nut I kinds like the darker look of Sparkling Graphite.

Hey thanks Smith. Yeah, you definitely need to find someone out there in NJ who can do the trim. Once someone points out the metal trim, its hard to keep it because you notice it more hahah.

I like Space Grey too, my friend had that color for his 335i coupe. I think my sparkling graphite is "good" most of the time, but it continues to blow me away when I get the car washed and waxed and see it outside in the daylight. Its awesome how it sparkles... whenever I get my car washed, I get so many comments from passerbys!

It was necessary for me to come onto your forum here to let the OP know that you had better close that hole up ASAP, for all our sake. On other models like the 335 or 328, that hole is just another bolt for the front fender, of which there are plenty and the t30 bolt will have just fallen into the front lip of your car. However!!!! On the M3, that hole, and only that hole, creates an open void to pure nothingness. If you dont plug it soon, the world as we know it will cease to exist.

same thing happened to me, get a magnet and tie some 12 cord or another thicker cord to the magnet and drop down the hole and pull out the loose screw.

Hahah, void to nothingness, I like that. Actually, maybe its because my intake is so extra powerful that it sucks the bolts right off the engine into the car. You should see how much power it puts down lol.

Hey nice 'vert man, its like my car's twin in Florida. Even in Cali, I don't see too many E93 M3s and Sparkling Graphite E93s are even rarer.
