I have a interlagos blue e92. I need to have the bumper refinished ( peppered with rock chips) anyone think I can just have the bumper painted without having the hood and fenders blended? I know for sure one fender was repainted at one point and possibly the hood. If I do not have it all blended do you think there will be a difference in color? I was quoted $3,300 to refinish the bumper (sand for all the rock chips) fix a couple chips in the hood then blend the hood and fenders with the bumper

While I don't think painting just the bumper will look that great (see below), I don't know that blending will give the best result either, though depends on your overall paint condition.
I started with a bumper respray + reflector delete, which turned out great but I didn't like how perfect the bumper looked while the hood and fender paint was 12 years old (at the time), somewhat faded, and lots of rock chips - looked half ass to me. So I bit the bullet and had the hood, fenders, and mirror caps all fully resprayed. Pretty costly in the end with all the paint work + full PPF, but I plan to keep the car for the long run.
The 2nd pic at the link below was shortly after paint & film. Wish I had a picture of just my bumper resprayed, looked kinda silly IMO, at least on my car.

I don’t think my hood and fenders look too bad. But then again I’m not sure how faded they are. Don’t mind the taped off trim was doing a paint correction
I’m Jet black and I’ve repainted my rear bumper 4 times because of shitty drivers hitting me from behind. Not I or anyone has ever noticed. I think a shop worth their weight can do this easily. Just ask them and if they can’t, they will push you to a blend or full spray. Just accept their answer and try others until you find a capable spot that knows their shit.
