Limp mode upon startup

Today I started up the e90, and about 30 seconds later, it went into limp mode while backing out of the driveway. Got codes 002B0D (idle speed control valve monitor) and 002B57 along with 005E19.

Something like this happened about a month and a half ago, when the idle speed control code was showing but I also got misfires on cylinder 5, 6, 7, and 8 with "cut out and emissions deterioration", but I just cleared it and it never came back.
If it helps, I am catless and without a tune, so that may be affecting it. Also I heard two separate rough motor-like noises just after the starter Each coming on for about 2 seconds.

Thanks for any help, I really just want to know if this is an issue I need to get diagnosed at a shop or if I can just ignore it till it gives me any more problems.

Sounds to me like there may be an electrical fault with the ICV or the throttle actuator for bank 2 (or both).

Should I start by replacing the ICV? Is it something I can wait a bit to do without harming anything?

On this forum, many people I've seen report fault code 002B0D ended up having the ICV be the culprit, a very common failure point on these cars. Don't spend any money on the ICV yet. It is under a special extended warranty from BMW for 10 years or 120,000 miles, so it can be replaced for free at the dealership. Check out this thread here for more info on the extended warranty.

EDIT: The guy in the other thread who had it replaced for free has a note about the warranty on his paperwork referring to BMW Technical Service Bulletin: SI B01 3 16. I can't find that for free viewing online, however you can see it listed by title with general description of the warranty terms of 10 years/120,000 miles here (9 lines up from the bottom of the page) as a real TSB.

Can anyone else verify this extended warranty? I've seen it before on the forums but never been able to find an official document that says it's true.

Has anyone been able to get BMW to replace this for free? Don't want to look stupid walking in the dealership asking for free parts at 80k miles as the second owner lol

It's real. Official documents aren't usually plastered all over the interwebs though.

It's for the ICV not the throttle actuators or other faults. So if your issue is the ICV then you can take it in and they should cover the repair. If you're not sure and you take it in and they find it's something else, you'll have to at least pay for the diagnosis even if you don't have them replace other parts.

In any case, you have to be tactful when requesting no charge services. If you go in with the wrong attitude you're less likely to have a smooth interaction.

Replaced the ICV myself based on the DIY.

About 2 min after startup same codes popped up again, this time with 00A6D1 (short circuit additional water pump) and 005E19 (engine torque is not adjustable CAN).

The limp mode always seems to happen upon throttle application, starting from a stop, right after cold starts.

I'm planning on taking it in to the dealer because this is about the extent of what I can diagnose, but I'm very curious if you all have any ideas on what it could be.

Could very well be the throttle actuator(s).

You need the BMW scanner to get the proper diagnosis; let us know what turns up.

Any results from dealer? I have the same issue but only misfire with cutout/ detioration cyl 5,6,7,8. Went into limp mode at least 6 times today.

It ended up being a simple exhaust leak, the header-xpipe bolts had wiggled themselves completely off. If you've had any exhaust work done recently, I would check that. From what I understand, it's very strange that all cylinders in bank 2 misfired at the same time, so it points to something that would affect the entire bank (like a huge exhaust leak fucking up the O2 sensor data for just bank 2, which is what happened with my leak)
