I'm stuck trying to remove the side gills on my e90. I've pulled and wiggled hard enough to where I feel the fender is going to rip of and cant get them free! Any advice??? My car is a 2009...
Tape method and using the free hand to try to release the clips did the trick for me.
All I can say is good luck....took me an hour with tape....it's doable . Try tape plus a trim removal tool
I can honestly say that I've done this a few times now and it's not the easiest. I've tried various methods and the one that was the easiest for me and caused te least amount of damage was removing the fender liner and getting in behind to help. It is best to remove the whole assembly. This would include the light, trim and honeycomb surround. Taping around the exterior of the trim on the fender with painters tape helps to protect the car. Pry tools help when used from the front with the assistance of pushing from behind. In order to remove the fender liner, you will have to also jack the car up and remove your front wheel. Remember to always work the assembly from the door side first and work it out towards the front of the car.
There are plenty of videos and tutorials on the forum and Google is your friend. Remember, the E92 is not the same procedure and they differ is approach. Take your time and you'll get through it.
