I am the owner of a 2013.9 ED Coupe M3. While in Europe I remember the central console had more buttons than after the car got re-delivered US side. Is this a US regulation that does not allow those functions ?

in Europe my car had the following PHYSICAL buttons:

-PDC
-sunblinds rollers
-HDC Hill Descent Control
-deactivating auto start/stop.

and now I see only 2.

-sunblinds rollers
-deactivating auto start/stop.

PDC is still working automatically when going in reverse but forward PDC required that button and so is not longer possible.
HDC was a nice feature that regulates the car in steep descents to 5 mph.

Why did they have to remove these ?? FYI I got the premium package.
US spec cars only have rear PDC so I doubt your car ever had the front sensors. Never heard of anyone having the button that disappeared upon redelivery in the US but your system is working as it should on a US spec car. Front PDC can be had on a Euro spec car.

Not familiar with the HDC feature, not sure if it comes on the M3. I know my wife had it on her old X5...

Edit: Just looked at the M3 manual online and it shows HDC. Perhaps it is a Euro spec option as well...

I am almost certain my car had the HDC button in Europe I remember about the icon with the car on a steep slope with a dial on top and thought it looked cool. I also seem to remember about the PDC button. But I sure do not have it now. When I got the car back I first noticed there were more blanks than what I remembered. Or is it just my imagination ?
I took only one picture of the interior in Europe but it was the door trim.
It's your imagination... Funny none the less!
You got the wrong car delivered :).
Are you sure that you didn't do your ED at a hash bar in Amsterdam :)

Front PDC has never been an option in the US if you had it then they stole your front sensors on the bumper cover as well.

HDC was never offered on the M3.

That is not true, p. 97 of the M3 manual : HDC and on the instrument cluster.
I remember pressing and depressing that button wondering what it was doing.

Could they have build my car to european specs and found out about it at VDC. How to check if I have regenerative brakes ?:D

Any pics of the car during ED? They take & give you a photo of you and the front of your car during delivery. It would show front PDC sensors and no orange reflectors. Maybe you really did ED and not LSD ;)

Holland's was not part of in my road trip, only the german and swiss Alps and Italian lakes. So the air was crisp and my mind was sharp and clear. I didn't smoke nothing. I confirm my car has the orange reflectors but I think they may have only accidentally installed those few euro options I mentioned. I'll check for the front PDC sensors. I guess they had to remove them to be fair to other M3's
I was under the impression that HDC was only available on xDrive vehicles.

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but are you positive the car you drive in Europe was the car you bought and are now driving in the US?

I am positive. The car still has all the windows stickers I bought for european highways (swiss and austria) and the one for the city of munich.
I assume the missing options and buttons could have been easily removed at VDC.

haven't you noticed HDC is documented in the M3 manual ? My manual is the 2013 version. There is a serial number on the back : 01 40 2 918 660 ue iDrive
Right but the M3 manual is in two parts, at least my 2011 manual did. The first is actually just the generic 3 series manual with the second focusing on the M3 specific bits. Conceivably the HDC feature mentioned in the first manual could be for the 328xi and 335xi models...
Correct, the M3 Supplement makes no mention of HDC.

Right but the M3 supplement manual mentions the PDC button (needed for forward PDC) and that was also removed from my car after ED.

I still want to see photos of your car on the floor @ Die Welt.

If you want front PDC back again....click here.

wow nice DIY project. I hope it worked all well.
Ok you win. I don't see a PDC hole in my front bumper.
I have not made my ED delivery thread yet. No picture preview policy until then.

I think I may have read the manual so assiduously in the plane on the way there on my laptop that I pictured the buttons in my car. But I seem to remember pressing them especially the HDC one.:confused2
do you remember your flight home or did you wake up naked in vegas?

wait a minute. Something doesn't sound right. You're saying, you had front PDC on your ED car (even though you couldn't order it in the US). Then when you came back it disappeared?

That just sounds crazy. Just post a picture of your front bumper in Europe and let's see whether you were smoking hash or not. BMW adding features you didn't order or wasn't part of US models, then removing it again on port side, just doesn't sound right.

btw, here is a picture of a car you posted with front PDC. Note the holes on the bumper, you're saying you had holes on your front bumper, and now they are gone? or you still have holes on your bumper and you no longer have a button for front PDC? Something doesn't add up, and your refusal to post a picture of your car at Welt just makes us think you've suffered from altitude sickness in the alps.
It was a voyage in the mountains without detour in the twilight zone. My car doesn't have the front bumper holes allright but what if they installed the wrong interior buttons and then noticed and fixed it a VDC ? After all i didn't try HDC so I never verified the car was equipped with the sensors then but I seem to remember trying the PDC button and seeing a picture of both front and back obstacles.

The munich and swiss alp beers were good though :D
