NorCal: Exhaust comparison get together?

So since we always see people posting questions about aftermarket exhausts and since my memory is telling me we have quite a few members in the bay area that have aftermarket systems, I figured sometime this spring we can arrange a get together to make a compilation video for Zpost, similar to this one:

So I figure maybe in April or May we can get together and have a meet, check out each others rides, and shoot a nice vid. I can get a dB meter so we can show, with data, how loud each system is in and out of the car, and hopefully someone has a video recorder with a decent mic, if not I can use my Flip Cam.

It would be great if we can somehow find a member for each type of exhaust that's out there for us.

Just a thought, let me know what you guys and gals think, either way it would be fun to get together and check out cars and get to meet you all in person (for those I haven't met yet).

Aestheticstorm volunteered his equipment for recording, but obviously people are free to bring their own gear for videos and photos. I'll also bring my dB meter.

As far as location, looks like people are liking the Alameda Naval Base, and so far I'm thinking the time frame will be 2nd or 3rd week of April. I'll update the post again once we finalize the date and time and/or get more volunteers.

Sounds like fun and a good excuse to get together. I'm in. It would be nice to get several opinions on sound, and "drone", and a nice summary along with some good sound clips.

Edit: this probably means you'll get me and Skelekitty, so an RE Diablo and an Eisenmann sport with an RE X-Pipe.

right now i have jvt headers, re x pipe, and stock mufflers. In a couple of months i should have some different stuff.

Sweet! Thanks to everyone so far for volunteering. I've sent PM's to some other local members with different types of exhausts so hopefully we'll get a good spread of brands available!

Once we lock all the volunteers down, I'll just ask everyone to PM me their email address and we can coordinate through email. I figure it will take quite a while to find one day where everyone is available for a few hours, so I'm guessing this will happen some time in April or May (better weather anyways!).

Looking forward to making what I hope is a useful vid for the Zpost community, and not gonna lie, more looking forward to meeting (or seeing again) all of you and checking out your rides!

We should crash the 'dorkfest event' I didn't go last year but wanted to, it's a gathering of z3m coupes...just let me know where and when, somewhere we don't get reported to the local authorities due to noise would be ideal.

That's the same place I had in mind lol! It would be great if we can all meet there.

I'm in. Stock muffler but with euro headers. The headers change the in-cabin noise a lot.

I've been thinking about getting rid of the RPi's, but since we're setting something up like this I'll hold off on it. Possibly knock out 2 birds with one stone. Attend gathering and sell exhaust to fellow Zpost member? Hahah.

I'm in -- with Diablos on stock.

I just picked up a Canon 7D that shoots fabulous 1080P with nice depth-of-field so I can volunteer to be videographer unless there's a pro in our midst who would like to do it. The camera accepts an external microphone if anyone has access to one.

It would be sweet if we could meet and then caravan somewhere. I like mfan's idea of the naval base, if we could caravan there from somewhere else.

It's at the cross section of Webster St. and Atlantic Avenue.

Then we can take a short drive down Atlantic Avenue towards the towards the West and into the Naval base area. There's a lot of open space in there, but I'm not sure if being loud in there is a good idea unfortunately

Perhaps we might be able to make use of the large parking lot at the intersection of Ferry Point and Ticonderoga Ave.

BTW Gernard, I currently have OE section1. I sold my SS uncatted/unresonated a few months ago. Couldn't stand the rasp anymore
