The very first M3 M Performance Edition produced has been sighted. Seen in the UK recently was this Frozen Japan Red M3. Just 30 of these M3 M Performance Edition models were ever made and this was the very first of the 30 to be produced. This special edition M3 was offered exclusively for the UK market at a price of 74,080.

The M3 M Performance Edition was announced in May, together with the M5 M Performance Edition.

Showcasing BMW Individual, these M Performance Editions brought three new Frozen paint colors to the UK for the first time - BMW Individual Japan Red with a Frozen Red wrap, BMW Individual Frozen White and BMW Individual Frozen Blue.

All M3 M Performance Editions come with extended Black Novillo leather upholstery, both with contrasting Mugello Red, Lotus White or Tobago Blue stitching as standard.

Floor mats with contrast piping, an Alcantara steering wheel, BMW Individual Piano Black interior trim with a ‘One of 30’ laser cut designation, front headrests with M stitching and door sills with ‘BMW M Performance Edition’ designation dress up the interior.

The M3 M Performance Edition models come with the ZCP Competition Package as standard, which features 10mm lowered suspension, Electronic Damper Control with Sport mode and a revised DSC+ system.

Also standard on the BMW M3 M Performance Edition are: 19-inch M Y-spoke Matt Black alloy wheels, Dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surround, jet black hood intakes, carbon fiber front splitters, high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, folding exterior mirrors and sun protection glass, adaptive headlights, DAB digital radio, a Harman/Kardon 13-loudspeaker system, BMW Professional Media Package, mobile application preparation, telephone USB audio interface, sliding front armrest, front seat heating and front and rear Park Distance Control.

Performance edition, yet it's completely identical to a stock M3, performance-wise? ... What a pointless marketing gimmick.

So the Frozen Red is actually a wrap? I wonder why that is.

So... will I be the first to think that the 6 series lurking behind here is more interesting subject matter than the Performance paint upgrade edition?

Looks really clean.

Here we go again putting the "M Performance" badge on everything and this time its worse cause they put it on an actual M. I wonder what this costs? I bet the same "Performance" can be achieved with a few thousand bucks in aftermarket parts. Geez BMW, when are you going to learn!!! Didn't the Lime Rock M3 Edition teach you anything?

Sorry for complaining but why doesn't BMW think of making the damn thing faster rather than more asthetically pleasing?
