Are you sure BW is a standard metallic color now?
I know MW is...

I think Jason was referring to MW. BW is an individual color.

+1 Mineral White, I normally am against metallic paints because i think they take away from the sportiness of the car, but I love MW.
Its really not as shiny as the Pearl White on the Lexus, which is good. |

MW looked a bit too 'off-white' / 'pearly' for my liking. So I went with AW because it appeared much more of a bright / brilliant white.

I hope that the dealership has a MW car on the lot when I visit tomorrow. I'm ordering a coupe soon, and am still on the fence between MW and AW.

AW is the safer bet.. Get a Lexus IS or Infiniti G37 if you want MW..

I had the same dilemma, I have had 3 BMW’s in Alpine White, now with the E93 coming, I could not decide. I first thought the Mineral White was too Lexus looking, so I was leaning toward Alpine White.
After all was said and done, I decided on Monte Carlo Blue because I always loved the old Estoril Blue from the E36 era. Now I am happy with my MCB decision. All are great colors. M3Cabrio MCB |

What's "unsafe" about MW?

Maybe "safe" isnt the best word, but theres just something about an M car in MW that just doesn't work.
Can you imagine the new 1M or M5 in MW?

At the end of the day, the one thing we can all agree on is that this is a pointless debate about personal preference and taste.. because the M3 looks hot and sexy in pink or even doodoo brown..
I only speak for my personal preference for AW and opposition / reservations about the MW based on the fact that typically CLASSIC M cars have never been done in metallic white paints.. Also if MW were such natural sport M colors why didn't or hasn't BMW made or introduce the 1M, 6 XM, M5, M6 in mineral white? MW is hot, but I just happen to have seen them both side by side and I think AW hotter.. mainly because I think Metalic MW leans more on and tends to accents Luxury than agressive sporty curves.. Also when I saw the MW it kept reminding me of:

I dunno, I love MW but since I needed the four doors I had to go with AW. If MW was available for the e90 I'd be all over it. I've always thought that AW was very stark looking and have been waiting for bmw to come out with something a bit more luxurious looking or with more depth. But since my wife and I like white cars and AW's been the only readily available bmw white, that's the one we've always gotten. Hope MW gains more popularity and becomes a standard color for more models.
