Frozen Gray M3 Delivery Update

I just got a more up to date report on delivery of my Frozen Gray M3. They got me a VIN and told me that it is on its way to Oxnard and that it should be unloaded on July 13th. They do not know when it will get to the dealership.

This is my question to all of you that have gone through the special order process? If the dealership is local to Southern California, how long should I expect for it to be delivered to the local dealer?

Also, if I have the VIN, is there a way for me to track the car myself? I have read a ton of threads where a lot of you guys know your ships and when it is docked and unloaded and sent to the prep center and off to dealer. I am very impressed with your level of understanding of this process! Any insight would be appreciated.

Not sure about when it was built. This is the special 25th anniversary Frozen Gray edition. There were only 30 available and they were already built when they released them on June 21st. I mention the special order process because this is a similar situation. They have told me that it is on a ship on its way to Oxnard and I know a lot of people on this site have gone through that same situation. I bet you if you pose that question to the board, you will get the answer very very quickly.

First of all, congrats! If you have the vin and have a bmw account you can go to there website and add a vehicle and enter the vin # you have and it will tell you what stage the car is in. For information for the ships, you would have to ask your CA.

I'm not in Cal (Texas) but I do know there are some trucking issues right now. Mine was unloaded in Houston (4 hours away) last Thursday (6 days ago) and it's still not at the dealership. Quite a few trucking companies have gone under and it's causing a bit of a backup at the ports/distro centers. Mine was brought to Houston by train. First I've heard about that. So there are some issues, dunno if it will affect those of you in Cali.

+1, wouldn't be surprised if they prioritized the delivery (via Waggoners - contracted trucking outfit).

Not special order just run of the mill M3. Landed in Oxnard on June 17th, made it to a local dealer on the 22nd, 12 days. Hold up was a shortage of owner manual packs, many seem ot leave VPC in 3 to 5 days.

Delivery Update!

Update. The car did get to the VPC. Apparantly the earliest it can get to the local dealer now is by Monday. Now I probably will not be able to pick it up until the following weekend.

This then gives me the chance to go check the Frozen Gray and two-tone seats in person at your dealership. Crevier? Irvine? j/k I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait.

Waiting kinda sucks, doesn't it? Still, you're one lucky bastard. Remember, post pics or ban.

Cheers.

Seriously, I've NEVER seen a pic that does it any justice. Not even official BMW pics. The color really is quite stunning in person.

Can't wait to see it.

So, since you appear to be the only FG owner on the forum, does this mean that only approximately 1 in 30 M3 owners (or 3.33%) are members of this forum? Something to ponder while you wait.
