Kreissieg F1 Valvetronic Exhaust System, install, pics, and vids
Kreissieg F1 Valvetronic Exhaust System, install, pics, and vids:
Epacy2 made the trek from St. Louis to Chicago today so that we could install his Kreissieg F1 exhaust system ( rear section ). He ordered with us a system configured with a level 2 quiet mode, and level 5 f1 mode. The install is rather involved and is an easy 4-5 hour install if you have done the m3 application once before. The first time out, expect about 6 hours or so. We spent most the extra time finding the perfect place to mount certain components and lines. We also made some custom mount brackets for the air canister resivior so that it could be mounted by the bumper beam in back up out of site. All went really well, and everything fired up and valve system worked first time out of the box! The Japanese supplied instructions were vague and pretty basic. We'll make OUR instructions available with any that purchase the exhaust with GT Motoring. It's well worth it! GT Motoring is an authorized Kreissieg distributor. Here are some pics of the install done today. I'm ripping the vids to my laptop tonight. I'll see if i can i can get them edited and uploaded yet tonight M3 on the lift, oem exhaust removed Kreissieg F1 valvetronic exhaust and install components ITB's exposed to access vacuum source Vacuum resivior with mount brackets made Stealth canister install in the bumper (lines not in their final spot yet) Exhaust canister with valve system Kreissieg label and ser. # Electronics and wireless control system out of site, but accessable Exhaust installed! Side shot Factory exhaust tucked in for its ride back home Eric on his way back home to St. Louis! I hope E puts up some pics of the car from behind (like from the same level as one would be at if they were sitting in a car behind the //M. Would love to know how "visible the canisters are.
Can't wait for the review, videos and more pics Cheers, e46e92

The vacuum source needs to be pulled from the engines vacuum. the reservior acts as a vacuum source on demand so it can open the valves quickly.

the tips only stock out maybe 1/2 in to so past the bottom of the bumper. as with many of the exhausts, after a good hot run, the exhaust expands some rearward, and the last pic shows that. it moves maybe another 1/2in vs cold.

Hmmm, doesn't sound like the other videos I've heard. For it to really scream you need the full setup correct, not just the muffler?

Correct, for it to be at its loudest, it would require the X pipe as well. Kreissieg makes one that goes with this exhaust as an option. It deletes the secondary cats and resonators. We are also making our Challenge one that retains the resonators.

What does the valve do exactly? Is the pipe controlled by the valve a through pipe without any openings to the resonance chamber? In other words, is there any diference between the two pipes that are on the same muffler?

The 2 modes sound like they are about the same dB level, but the "quiet" mode just sounds deeper, and much better. The F1 mode sounds very thin and high pitched, which I suppose is what an F1 car sounds like. I just think it is weird that the "quiet" mode is so loud.
