Finally picked'er up: Space Gray 2009 E90 M3 (F. Red/Al. Trim/6 Spd/18s)
I finally picked up my 2009 E90 M3 today. What a great day. I feel like a kid and cannot wipe the smile off my face even though I am still jet lagged from my return from France yesterday.
Here are the high level specs: - Space Gray - Fox Red interior with Brushed Aluminum trim - 6 Speed - EDC - 18s - No iDrive I have put about 90 miles on the car today (almost half the tank is gone, ouch) and I still need to got thru the manual to get all the details straight. Initial impressions are: 1. That V8 sound under acceleration is intoxicating, hence the poor gas mileage. I am going to have to let it off a bit if I can ;-) 2. I am very happy with the color choice combination. Looks great 3. Didn't know much about the bluetooth phone integration but I am quite amazed with it. I made a bunch of calls from the car today. It works seamlessly and renders my bluetooth headset useless. 4. iPod interface via the BMW Professional radio works really well too. I am impressed with it. 5. Automatic headlight feature is quite useful. I think I am going to get used to not worrying about turning the headlights on and off very quickly. Here are a couple of shots from today. I will try to add more later. Thanks again to this Forum for the invaluable info that led me to order this car.

The facelifted taillights are so much better than the old ones!!
Also love the combo you have chosen! And eventho I kinda hate the 18's, they go well on your car!! Enjoy it and drive safe mate |

The only reason to get iDrive in my mind is for Navigation. My commute is 3 miles each way on city streets. I rarely have a need for traffic info or navigation. In the few times that I need them, I just use Google maps/traffic on my cell phone. Not worth the extra $2250 for me.
Plus, I think the dash looks cleaner without iDrive. The second hump seems like an afterthought to me and is too much of a focus point in the dash. I think it is much better integrated in the X6 for instance. Personal choice I guess. On similar note, I picked up the French brochure for the M3 while in France and apparently, the M3 cannot be ordered without iDrive in France. Weird. I am happy I had the choice. Hopes this helps.

Gosh, I love those M3 sedans! I'm a coupe guy, but the sedan version of this car looks so aggressive from the back!
Congragulations, and enjoy!

Congrats! My best friend just picked up his Space Grey coupe on Friday.
Eatrach, it looks like you have until tomorrow to purchase a car with the 0.9% financing. Slacker, get over to Shelly BMW asap. ![]() |
