Angel eyes

What provides the illumination for the headlight rings? I assume there are separate bulbs. I'd like to match the color to the HID headlignts (~4,300K). Not interested in going super high color temp.

Don't know if that helps, but it's the #8 here: http://bmwfans.info/original/E92/Cou...3/ill-63_0961/

Thanks, south--that does help. I assume #7 is the "flash to pass" halogen?

#7 is the bending light (right term?), "flash to pass" does the xenon/HID.

Best regards, south

Lamp upgrades

Just ordered H8 & H3 lamps from Bimmian.com to match xenon. $96 with shipping for the two sets. They also have a LED conversion for the halo lamps, but it is a high color temp super bright look; that might be too much bling for me.

I don't know why BMW doesn't color match their lamps. It's a small detail, but makes a big difference in appearance.

Good luck with Bimmian. I haven't read much about them recently, but I know they used to be pretty bad with messing up orders and customer service.

+1 I agree it should match the xenons. But its not for everyone so we will just have to buy the aftermarket ones. Thanks for the info I will check them out for myself.

GP Thunder 8500K

Dont be fooled by the high temp the claim. It matches well with stock HIDs. Its white with a hint of blue. The 8500 is just a marketing gimmick.

Here are the bulbs I just received from Bimmian. Looks like their customer service has improved over their reputation. Halo (H8) bulbs on left and cornering (H3) bulbs on right.

Nicee, looks just like my GP Thunders. Im wondering, do you take the bulb off that socket and place it on the OEM one or do you replace the whole socket itself?

You replace the whole thing. And be careful not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers. Wear gloves.

Do you have access to PayPal in Guatemala? That's an option.
