BMW just announced that the DCT will be available in the U.S for the coupe beginning with the March production, and for the sedan beginning with the June production. The price - $2,700. Great news!

Damn, that's a lot cheaper than I expected. How much was SMG on the E46?

Shoot, since I still don't have a production number yet, perhaps I will make it to March.

M-DCT
Now, the dilemma. It sounds enticing, but do I try to pass off my status 112 production slot to another buyer through the dealer and wait a month or two? Guess I'll go talk to him at lunch today. I will not be heartbroken with a manual, but I kind of like having the latest and it sounds really good.

OP: We need the source.
If true, I nailed it too, right on the money as well. I updated my pricing spreadsheet and put in $2700 two days ago. Greg, please come back to the M-DCT club. Don't listen to Epacy and South, they represent the dark side ... |

I just got this from my sales advisor as verification...
"The M DKG Drivelogic Automatic will be available on the Sedan in June for $2700. I think what you heard about the release is correct for the coupe. We just got a bulletin today. Are you interested in it or the Manual?" I'll take the M DKG for $2700. ![]() |

I'm so glad I was wrong about the US pricing of M-DCT (or is it M-DKG now?).
$2700 is a no-brainer and I'm sold! Well worth passing on my 1st allocation for. I just hope it works as well as advertised. At the very least, I'm confident that it'll work better than the M5's SMG III which I actually thought was a very good transmission as long as you don't put it in automatic mode. So should the official name is M-DKG or is that just the german name for it? |

$2700 sounds about right. If It were much higher than $3K I bet alot of people would've opt'd for 6MT and BMW could ahve lost money with all of their R&D.
