Custom Clevite Rod Bearings

Wanted to update everyone on the bearings. A tremendous amount of work has gone into getting these manufactured.
There are many players in making this happen. Myself and Regular Guy have worked on this for a long time to get the best product to market. There are also other players involved that will remain anonymous until official launch and sales.
Here is where we are today.
1 Clevite has received specs and samples. The engineering department is currently working on prints.
2 Blueprints from Clevite will be sent mid January for final sign off approval.
3 Upon our approval production of the bearings will be complete May 2015.

The bearings will be lead copper based with Clevite low friction "Tri-Armor" coating. Clearance specs are designed to be correct with the coatings.

Vendor will be announced at a later date, though it is already setup.
Thanks to everyone for patiently waiting.
*Update*
9-9-15
Bearings are out of production, qc passed from Clevite and they are at the coaters now. Will update more on delivery date as soon as we know.

Also, data has been logged as far as oil flow on the stock engine with the stock oil. These charts will be posted and finalized soon. Thanks for everyones patients as this has seen production delays from Clevite but is finally nearing completion.
12-20-15 Bearings are in the hands of vendors and are available for purchase. Thank you to everyone that had patiently waited.

are these built to different specs/clearances than OEM? And if so, has any motor already had its bearings replaced with ones of the spec you guys are building to?

They are a different clearance than OEM. Many engines have been built to this clearance including many of the stroker motors. The only way at this point was grinding the crank, now there will be the option for bearing replacement.

AMAZING!! Thanks for the efforts you and the whole R&D team have put into this. Just having you and regular guy attached to this venture makes me feel good about the results. Your experience along with regular guy's exhaustive research and analysis of the bearings make this the perfect team to tackle the issue. I have had this bearing issue at the front of my mind since before I even bought my car earlier this year. Very much looking forward to the results!!

Exactly. I was afraid of keeping it long term, particularly since I have the newer engines without the lead based bearings.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Awesome news! Seems like these engines will be pretty bulletproof with effective rod bearings

I'm not a believer yet, but I totally salute the effort and commitment in getting this project completed...plenty people talk, few people go ahead and get stuff done.

I don't want to clutter this thread, but this IS the answer to at least one of the three problems the rotating assembly is plagued with--and by far the most prevalent cause of failure out of those three. What's not to believe? It's simple: create industry accepted standard clearance and the issue is resolved. Done.
