The engine revs to 8400 and is normally aspirated. Look at the power maps. Just make sure that you are ready in the right gear. This ain't 0-60 guys. It is start speed of 100mph or more depending on what is blocking the left lane.
you can look at the power maps all day long, there is no way, drivers equal a M3 is faster than a 997 TT, whether in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or any gear for that matter including reverse

Bull$h!t

If you beat a (997) 911 TT then they were not trying. A 911 pulls on an E63 M6 and the E92 M3 is a good bit slower than an M6.

Sure you beat 2 of them. I believe that

OMG, if you think the M3 is faster than a 911TT, you have issues. That 911 was toying with you and thinking this guy thinks his M3 is faster!! Hahaha!! And it worked.

the TT better be faster...it cost >twice as much...but it's not twice as fast....

sportAUTO
Ring, same excellent world class driver...
TT 7:54
M3 8:05

hardly earth shattering...the TT had better tires...the PSC's vs PSC+'s, the +, from what I understand is a slight compromise towards better longevity and wet weather use, but not quite as good on the track....

12 seconds per lap is a lot of time in my book.

12 seconds per lat is a lot, but 25 seconds, you won't even see the car in front of you. Again, who thinks they can beat a 911TT is crazy, especially on long straight roads where even grandma can puch it. I mean, how can one possibly believe that 480hp and lots more torque than the M3 engine in a lighter chassis and great transmission is not undisputably faster.

This is not "The Ring," so perhaps you all ought to learn how to read. Cornering and braking are not involved. This is the Autobahn. It is not a race track with hairpin turns. Torque/HP, gearing, and redline. The 997 TT has a lower top speed by almost 20mph, and its HP peaks earlier...

And a 997 TT is heavier than the new M3...btw. As if it is relevant I had a quarter tank of gas.

Tell you what, I will continue to enjoy my M3 on the Autobahn and in the Alps, and you continue to have fun with cosmetic mods, custom wheels, stop light racing, and 0-60.
My friend, please, don’t continue to argue things you clearly know absolutely nothing about (and do your countrymen a favor). Or at least try to look figures up before you write blasphemy all over the place. And yes, I think I will buy a 1965 VW bug and think it’s the fastest car in the world. Ignorance, so they say, is bliss.

911 TT vs. E92M3 C
Weight 1,585 kg vs. 1,655kg
Hp 480bhp vs. 414bhp
Torque 460lbs/ft vs. 295lbs/ft
0 – 100 3.9 seconds vs. 4.8 seconds
Ľ mile 11.4 seconds vs. 12.4 seconds
Top Speed 310 kph vs. Limited but when not, possibly 290+

We all know how to read (thank you very much) and we all know it was the Autobahn (supposedly).

Here's the thing, on a straight that makes it even better in the 911TT favor.

And For your information,

997 911 Twin Turbo
480 HP
460 Torque lb-ft
193/310 MPH/KMPH
3495/1585 LBS/KG

E92 M3
415 HP
295 Torque lb-ft
155/250 MPH/KMPH
3648/1655 LBS/KG

Whether your tank was full or next to empty it wouldn't make a difference. The result would be the same.
Keep dreaming my friend.

Well, we didn't take into account that QShip is very, very thin and the guy on the 997 was very, very fat. So then the M3 was lighter. Also, we didn't factor in the point that Qship's presence alone increased power to weight ratio to a point over 480hp for his M3. Finally, well, there was the funny wind that pushed the M3, but only the M3 cause its got so much better aerodynamics than the 911TT, etc... etc... and this happend several times so that QShip will always win. Especially in the Autobahan since (as he thinks) none of us have driven on.

Can we change the title on this thead to say 1965 VW Bug beats Ferrari Enzo! May be more realistic!

OMG so funny

You know what I was thinking. If I were to give him the benifit of the doubt, maybe he was going up against a 911S and doesn't even know how to spot the difference between the 2. Either way what an idiot.

Hahaha!! We even thought at the beginning he meant 911 “Tip Tronic” (TT)!! Trying to understand how he could think that.

Qship, please come back to earth. You've got several die-hard M3 fans and owners telling you you're wrong and backing it up with actual facts and data.

You have to admire his persistence though, have never seen anything like it. But hey, the Autobahn argument may hold some water as well as what happens after 6th gear! Hahahaha!
